“Nice plan and excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

the hotel is very well located (5 minutes by walk to the main streets and shops), quiet and clean. The staff was pleasant and helpful. the only negative is that there is no food except at the bar on the ground but the hotel do not provide info about it. nevertheless it is a good place, even more as i payed $120 per night

The rooms are small and minamalistic, but comfy. The furnishings are nice, comfy bed, good clean shower, decent flat screen tv, coffee in lobby is good. The location is safe and convenient. We walked the freedom trail from here, and it is close to the public library and the back bay T. The restaurant choice is good in the area and you feel safe walking around at night. We got a deal for $99 a night and it was the best price in Boston.

Stayed here for 5 nights in October 2012 on holiday. Excellent location: 10-15 minutes walk from attractions such as Boston Common, Prudential Centre (where you can pick up the excellent Duck Tour!), and 10 mins from Arlington subway.
Reception staff extremely helpful - we were there during Hurricane Sandy and they helped us get pizza delivered when it was just too wild to venture out. But there are lots of good restaurants within 5 - 10 mins walk too. Very nice free coffee machine in lobby. 2 cafes for breakfast on the same block - or you can buy food in the 7-11 store. We didn't try the weekend brunch in the bar downstairs but the staff did recommend it.
The room was small but really nicely furnished in a modern style. Not much hanging space but good deep drawers either side of bed. Bathroom VERY compact but for our shortish stay it was fine.
We asked for a quiet room on a high floor (I emailed a week before we arrived), and we got floor 7 (there are 8 floors with 8 rooms on each floor I think). We were in the middle of the line of rooms (room 704) so not too near the stairwell door which was loud when it slammed - so we were never disturbed at all. I think rooms 1 and 2 on each floor might suffer from that.
All in all an excellent choice at a reasonable price for Boston.

Room Tip: email a few days before you go and ask for a quiet room on a high floor.

When I travel to Boston, I go by train, arriving at the Back Bay station. This hotel was two blocks away from the station -- very convenient. It was on a beautiful street, and a good value, which seems unusual in Boston. The hotel was not remarkable in any way, but perfectly pleasant. Front desk people were extremely nice. They don't serve breakfast, but they have a great Nespresso style coffee maker always available. The room was clean, the decor was streamlined and sleek, wifi worked, nice walk-in shower. Plus, you are just around the corner from the South End restaurants and shops. I'm sure I'll stay there again.

It was nice and clean. The room is kind of small, but can still accommodate four people if you try really hard. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I love to be there in Boston and surely will go there again.

My fiancé and I stayed at the chandler inn for 2 nights this November and we felt our stay could of been better. The hotel is in a great area because it is right by downtown where the mall and Starbucks is located. However we did have to pay $23 per day for our car which we had to park in the garage a few blocks from the hotel.

The most disappointing part of our stay is when we first walked in we saw the sheets were extremely dirty with stains. They were 100% not clean. We called the front desk and the guy on shift said there was not a maid at night so he gave us clean sheets to put on ourselves. Well as we pulled the dirty sheets off we found the matress cover to be filthy with stains everywhere. We got so disgusted we took it off and thru it outside our room. However the next night the maids changed our sheets.

The bathroom was tiny but seemed clean.

Overall it was ok but I would not go back.

I stayed there for a week in October 2012 and was very satisfied. The corner room which I was given was excellent, with a very comfortable bed and splendid walk-in shower. There was an easily-accessible safe and a large wide-screen television. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and had very good knowledge of local restaurants and amenities. My only niggle was that on 2 occasions early on in the week I returned in the late afternoon to find that the room had not been serviced. I made an issue of this and the problem was sorted. The hotel was relatively inexpensive and was an excellent base for touring the city. I would certainly stay there again.
