“Not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2011

I think that the Best Western is so complacent that they are the hotel the closest to Children's Hospital Boston that they feel they can charge outrageous rates for what they are offering. It's an OK hotel, but really not worth the money. But if you are going to the hospital, this is the easiest place to stay. Otherwise the rooms are small and dark, outdated and rather unappealing. Staff is nice, but I wouldn't say exceptional.

Thank you for posting a review of your recent stay. We appreciate your positive comments regarding the staff and location. The comment about being complacent is also being shared with the staff as this is something we do not want to be perceived as.Our guests have many unique needs and reasons for staying with us and we train our staff constantly to meet those needs. We work closely with the area Hospitals to understand these guests and always want to provide what is best for them. Again thank you for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time to post a review.

When a crisis hits, you can use all of the care and compassion you can get. The Inn at Longwood Medical has come to the rescue. Clean accomodations, great restaurant, convenient location, and most of all, the staff. David Gore, assistant front office manager, has exceeded our expectations in many ways. Talk about going out of the way to ease our pain, but providing the accomodations we need on short notice, promptly returning calls and e-mails without ever making us feel like we are a burdon, what an asset to Best Western. Being 5 hours away from the crisis, and traveling exhausted, he somehow sports a personality that can cure it all. Cudos to him! Incidentally, don't forget Antonio Gomez. Another truely valued employee, helpful, pleasant, witty, and again, makes us just feel like we are among friends when we stay with them. I hope we are NEVER in this situation again, but if I am, OR when, and if we ever travel again, we will make it a point to seek out a Best Western to stay in. Especially if they employ more employees like David Gore and Antonio Gomez. Thanks mucho!!

We have stayed at the Best Western Longwood Inn several times in the past three months (for medical appointments and chemotherapy). We have found the staff to be superbly trained, helpful, pleasant, and always ready to assist with any request! Noah, Jenne, and Giselle, among several other staff, enjoy their positions, and make every stay pleasant.

Rooms are always clean, well stocked, and the beds are INCREDIBLY comfortable!!!! The hotel restaurant room service (utilized four times recently) is excellent! Southern chicken is served with organic baby carrots and mashed potatoes; the fried cheesecake, with three dipping sauces, and chocolate bread pudding, are delicious desserts!! Breakfast was excellent, too. All food was delivered at the time promised, and always warm/hot.

Parking in the hotel is easy, and very reasonably priced; come-and-go option is a plus, and no extra charge.

We've stayed at many 4 and 5 star hotels (over the years), and find the staff, service level, and atmosphere at this facility to rival many other, much higher priced hotels. The very courteous and highly trained staff reflect on the management, and the attention to service and detail.

Room Tip: King suites are worth the slightly higher price....very roomy and comfortable!

If you are doing business with any of the nearby medical facilities, the Inn at Longwood is right in the middle of it all. Everything is well within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms were comfortable and the staff was very helpfull in recieving packages on several occasions that I needed for my work with one of the hospitals. I will stay there again in the future.

We stay here regularly as we spent quite a bit of time at Children's Hospital.
The hotel is very conveniently located next door to the hospital entrance. The rooms are small, but clean. The staff are helpful. Free wifi worked perfectly from our room.
There is a food court & attached restaurant which makes it even more convenient.
There are many restaurants within walking distance as well as Fenway Park.
If you have to visit or stay at any on the Longwood area hospitals, this is a very good choice.

I just spent 6 nights at the Inn at Longwood, from Oct. 16 thru 21st. As it is located next to Children's, Dana Farber, and other hospitals, many guests are family of patients undergoing care in the neighboring facilities. The hotel staff, from housekeeping to the restaurant go out of their way to make life easier during trying times. Rooms are especially clean and comfortable. I agree with a previous reviewer who mentioned that some more available channels on the tv would be nice. Special thanks to Angel, the desk manager who arranged for me to stay 3 additional nights. The Inn at Longwood is a special place!

I spent the last month (5 days a week & weekends) staying at the Longwood as my wife underwent a bone marrow transplant at Dana Farber/Brigham & Womens Hospital. I have to extend a huge Thank You to all the staff and managers for the way they made my stay both comfortable and at ease. With my changing schedules they were extremely flexible and attentive to all my needs during what could of been a very stressful time. Everyone from the desk folks, room service, the restarurant staff, and housekeeping saw to it that my stay was as close to being home as possible. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. When I needed to juggle things they made it seamless.
I would recommend the Longwood to anyone Staying in Boston whether if fot 1 night or an extended stay. You can spend much more at more expensive hotels but why would you want too.
If you need a place in the Longwood Medical area this is it.
