This hotel is very conveniently located to the surrounding college campuses, but is in desperate need of renovation. The window was broken, the bathrooms do not have exhaust fans, and the grounds were cluttered with cigarette butts. The continental breakfast was a nice plus and the variety and cleanliness of the serving area was excellent.

Dear Beth M,
We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at the Best Western University Hotel. We are especially disappointed to hear that the window was broken in your room and that there were littered cigarettes on the grounds! Being a smoke-free property, we find that some guests will go outside and smoke, leaving the cigarette ends on the ground. We have a handy-person that cleans the grounds daily, as well as fixes items as needed. Did you contact the front desk? The staff works very hard to ensure the cleanliness of the property and I will be sure to show all of the maintenance staff your review. Thank you for taking the time to write about the hotel.

We stayed in a suite style room...two very large rooms.large flat screen TV's in both rooms, kitchenette, two large closets, clean rooms. Could hear people talkin during the night, but not to bad. Large King size bed that was ok. Nice breakfast area...large and plenty room to sit. Would stay again. Very friendly Service.

The location was perfect for me, as I was visiting friends. It might be a bit far out if you're looking to visit the city centre but there are good transport links. There are plenty of shops around if you need to pop out for anything.

The room itself was spacious and the bed was HUGE! The bathroom was quite small which was strange after the size of the main room but as I was staying there alone it wasn't really a problem.

The breakfast was lovely, plenty of options and lots of food available, even later on in the morning. The staff were friendly and helpful, all in all a good stay.

It didn't get 5 stars due to nitpicky reasons. The bed was quite hard for my taste, and I had a REALLY noisy guest staying above me who seemed to be making a point of slamming and banging and stomping at 4am. Usually these kinds of sounds are muffled, but it was really loud. Also, I stayed over new year's, and at around 2am there were some drunks banging on the door which freaked me out a little bit. Being British, I'm not really used to having doors facing onto the street so as a woman staying alone I was a little scared! Not really the hotel's fault but if you think this might be an issue then ask for a room facing inward.

Dear Rhian W,
Thank you for staying with us and posting a review on Tripadvisor. We are glad you found your room to be spacious and clean. We are also pleased that you enjoyed the breakfast, as we work hard to ensure our guests' happiness! We regret that the New Year's Eve noises were bothersome and that the bed was too hard for your liking. Good to know! Feel free to email us directly with suggestions or with any questions. Hope to see you again real soon.

A simple, clean hotel with a great price and free parking. Breakfast included. Walk to the MBTA. Staff was very nice. I stayed during a snow storm and the staff helping me dig my car out! Good size room for the city.

I have been staying at this Best Western hotel 3 days a week since Oct 20012. The staff has been exceptional! They are friendly, professional, and have made my stay there very comfortable. Easy access to the T or walking on Commonwealth Ave. Great place to stay if visiting colleges or hospitals in the area.

Room Tip: Rooms near lobby are closer to breakfast area
