I should have joined this website a long time ago. I will check it before I stay anywhere else again. This B&B lists a/c as first amenity. Actually, electricity would have been nice since the proprieters idea of a/c is a fan. No joke. Rooms were grand with antiques, but lived in by someone (literally) used soap, shampoo bottles and toiletries in bathrooms. I don't expect someone to supply my toiletries, but I don't expect to clean up someone else's either. Clothes/shoes in closets, so don't think of unpacking. The house was musty, smelled and was not vacuumed or dusted. The two dogs living there were happy, friendly and made us feel more welcome than the owner, who made us feel as if we were intruding and this was an imposition on her. Privacy is not an option as there are no locks on the bedroom doors. Safety isn't either as the first alert fire alarm was sitting on an end table in the hall. As there were problems with the electric not working and the ceilings were a good twenty feet high, I can't see how the alarm would have done any good (smoke rises). We were with another couple and after dropping off our luggage and attemping to settle in, we went to get something to eat for dinner, during which we decided to chalk up the $250/nite/per couple (1st night pre-paid by check as requested by owner) to a learning experience and sought out a hotel to stay in. When we informed the owner we were leaving, she could've cared less. Refund or some kind of discount for misleading info about her B&B??? Don't let the door hit you in the [--] on the way out.
