The hotel is built into the historic Charles St, Jail with a incredible use of the original brick and granite walls and enhanced with jail bars and faux cells. The lobby is fascinating with an wide open bar area, three tiers of balconies on three walls, comfortable seating and the Clink restaurant. There is an outside area, the "Yard" with seating and café serving when the weather is warm( it was too cold)
The service from the doorman to the front desk to the bellman was excellent. The room was very well done and comfortable with a great bathroom.
We ate at two of the restaurants: in the Clink for brunch, where you can make your own bloody Mary. Our brunch choices of a grilled tomato and burrata salad and a grilled triple cheese sandwich ( a swiss type, goat and ?) was excellent and in the Scampo we dined on a wonderful trufle pasta and perfectly prepared tenderloin.
We shall return.
