“Best meal ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

Celebrating our anniversary, my wife and I decided to go a bit "high end" on the choice of restaurants. We chose Sorellina's in the Back Bay area of Boston. Menu was full of choices for apps and entrees as well as desserts. They had an endless selection of wines that were quite frankly, reasonably priced. There was no shortage of wait staff taking care of our needs throughout our dinner. We dined with another couple and each of us selected different entrees and appetizers. We had the Tuna tarte, octopus (simply incredible) beet salad (what a presentation) and mushrooms. For dinner, lamb, cooked to perfection, Sea Bass (delicious but small dish) grilled Alaskan salmon, and broiled scallops...perhaps the best I have ever tasted, ever!
We also ordered as sides, broccoli rabbi, polenta, and shrimp risotto. The food was very fresh and skillfully prepared. Expect to spend lots of money, as this is one of the more expensive restaurants to dine at....but for a special occasion this is where you want to go....Five star rating was an easy choice.

“Interesting menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

We had a good meal here - found the menu to be very different. Very upscale and the ambiance was wonderful. We loved one of our dinners, but felt mediocre about the other two. We would go again, and try something different. Our waiter was perfection.

“Upscale Italian in Boston”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013 via mobile

While Sorellina is a perfectly above average Italian restaurant with great food, the atmosphere is too sterile. The food and service were very good but I would opt for a more authentic Italian experience either in the North End or at La Campania out in Waltham

“Gorgeous Italian food in Boston”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Beautiful Italian food in a really gorgeous setting- the gnocchi I had was divine. Great service but a little bit pricey.

“Don't miss this one!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Sorellina's restaurant, its décor, its food, its staff ... was a highlight of recent trip to Boston. The décor has a feeling of stylish comfort, rather amazing since the elements could have seemed harshly modern. Monochromatic with TONS of white everywhere and touches of black could have come off as cold or sterile. Large windows offer views of city lights, but inside a sophisticated cocoon. A pleasure to the senses before one has even opened the menu. A talented designer has created, with lighting, art, table arrangements, a room is that is soft but sleek. And Quiet! An arrangement of ceiling baffles that look like an oversize graphic on the ceiling keeps noise levels wonderfully low. And the menu ... definitely not one of those 50 page extravaganzas of the chain restaurants, but an intriguing selection of modern Italian offerings. Includes Boston favorites like lobster here and there. I had Gnocchi with lobster that was so delicate, so light, with a buttery sauce that was yummy beyond words.
I went on a Sunday night, Labor Day weekend, and the place was busy, but not the hoards waiting in line as I've read happens on Thurs, Fri., and Sat. So plan ahead and make a reservation.
Don't spoil the ambiance here by wearing lace-up sport shoes, t-shirts and Bermuda shorts. This is an elegant classy room, for adults, with exceptional food. Dress for the occasion and for whomever you're sharing this meal with.
