“Pretty restaurant, horrible salmon & lacks customer service!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012

I ate here for lunch while on a business trip and ordered the smoked salmon. I quickly learned it is really raw salmon and when I addressed it with Lilliana she still charged me although I did not eat it and voiced my concern. The other waiter apparently did not speak good english and did not understand because he brought the raw salmon to me bagged up to go. I definitely will not be returning. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed and have great warm bread.

“Great bartenders - strong drinks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2012

Was here for a private event that had the entire restaurant closed off to the public. The space is absolutely beautiful, well lit, fun decor. Though we didn't have dinner, the bartenders were fantastic. They were really nice, quick to fill orders, and poured really strong drinks. They made the evening even better. They also had some great beers on tap (including one of my favorites: Leffe Blonde)

“Downtown Crossing - nice surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2012

Food was very good. Upscale style dishes that were above their price points. Decor was very nice, staff was quite good - elegant place to eat in what is now a rundown, depressing Downtown Crossing.

Fried oysters - lovely.
Scallop main dish - just right.

Only thing is that it has an odd entry but once inside you forget.

“Best overall in downtown crossing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2012

Besides good food and service this French bistro is located in a nicely updated old building within blocks of the Opera House, Modern theatre and other entertainment spots on Washinton St. They also offer validated parking after 4 pm in the Lafayette Place garage right next to the Hyatt.

“Great place if you miss Paris!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2012

We recently had a terrific meal at Petit Robert Central. After finding the proper entrance (on Summer Street, see the sign and go up the escalator) we were welcomed by a friendly hostess and seated at a nice window table. Don't expect a nice view, you're in Downtown Boston. The very efficient and friendly French waitress gave the menus, the busboy came with water and later with a warm demi-baguette with butter. Wine list includes glasses and bottles in the $30 and up range. The menu has a decent selection of continental and french items: we had the onion soup which was excellent and then the steak-frites which was a nice large piece of grilled New York strip steak, topped by parsley butter en-croute and fabulous well cooked and not too salty patates frites. A chocolate mousse and espresso topped off the delicious and ample meal. The waitress came by every once and a while to refill the wine glasses and check up on us, just at the right times. Overall a dining experience which reminded me of a good bistro meal in Paris. Noise level was acceptable when we were there, so I can recommend this place for pre-theatre or a leisurely, well paced dinner.
