“Cute restaurant with good pho”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2014 via mobile

We were recommended this restaurant by a friend who lives close by. It's a small place and clean. We ordered some spring rolls with roast chicken which were good. The hot and sour vegetable soup in the appetizer section was fantastic. The seafood pho was good but my husband wanted more seafood in it. There is a huge variety on the menu and we wished we had more people with us to try different items. The service was good and efficient.

“Authentic, affordable, out of the way”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

East of Boston is justifiably known for its Mexican and Central American restaurants. However, if you are not in the mood for one of those, and you are in East Boston, this is a great place to find affordable and authentic Vietnamese food in a very casual little restaurant.

The service was great and the food came incredibly quickly. I ordered my food spicy. Usually, restaurants in Boston are afraid to actually add any spice, but Saigon Hut (also known as Sai Gon on its current signage) made it really, really spicy, just the way I like it.

We asked for changes from the menu descriptions (tofu for one person, no peppers for another, spicy for me) and they did them all, didn't forget any, which I find pretty miraculous. Indicates that everything is made from scratch.

This is a simple place, so I don't recommend it for a fancy dinner out. Also, you may have children babbling or their parents talking incredibly loudly near you, but the restaurant people do a great job. If you are nearby (reachable by blue line, but we drove there: there is some legal parking on the street), it's a good place for a tasty, filling, satisfying dinner.

Good, no fills Vietnamese noodle shop.

Service was awesome (they spoiled my daughter and gave her a complimentary fried ice cream).
