While in Boston on a work trip I looking for a Saturday night (March 12th, 2011) out that had some cheap beer, food, and karaoke as a bonus. Sidebar seemed to deliver on all of the above.
I was shocked at the low low prices for food, and the large portion size and the food was actually GOOD. It's your standard pub grub but I had a chicken wrap and it there was a lot of chicken in it and not that much filler, and it was very tasty... plus the 15 cent wing deal is pretty awesome!
Pitchers of Bud & Bud Light are $7 each, which makes it only @4 a pint, an unbelievable price. The rest of the taps range over the $17 mark...
The bar is split right down the middle, with a large wall in between, so while Karaoke was going crazy on one side, the other was perfect for a casual conversation.
The karaoke DJ was great, very friendly and although the crowd was a little 'sports bar douchey' to start the night as it made it's way towards the midnight hour it got a little more friendly.
My only issue was the karaoke stopped at 1am, and the bar hoofed us out by 1:30am... seemed like an early Saturday night to me.
