“Fantastic Music!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2011

Just drinks and music on a Friday night -- so no comment on food. We walked in because a cute little boy was dancing like crazy in the open doorway. Okay, drinks in a pub are drinks, but the music was fantastic! And we're from Austin, TX where live music is very common. We found ourselves singing loudly with the other customers. I heard the bartender say to a customer, "Yeah, this is the kind of place where you stop for a drink and end up staying for 3 hours." Very true.

The place we walked into was called The Point, but the website says "The Point @ The Boston Stone Pub."

“Great place to relax on Sunday afternoon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2011

OK this was another outing sans kids. We stumbled upon the Point after spending the afternoon wandering around the North End. To be honest it was the laughter and Brandon Lepere singing AND the $2 draft beers that brought us in. We spent 2 hours laughing and really enjoying ourselves. We didn't eat so no comment on the food, and no we didn't drink too much, so no biased opinion based on alcohol consumption. Brandon has a great voice and great sense of humor. Bartenders and servers were ok, not overly solicitous nor did they completely ignore you. Patrons ranged from barely 21 to 60's; we're in our 40's and had fun! It also didn't hurt to have all the windows open, making the small downstairs seem much larger!

Located at the foulest smelling corner in Boston (right next to where the outdoor fish vendors set up), this is a total dive bar experience. The drinks are super-cheap (dollar jello shots) and the tank-top-in -December crowd is always fun to watch.
