“Appetizers in 30 min or more.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013 via mobile

Loved the atmosphere. We were catching a play so we had a limited time. It's in the theatre district and it still took over 30 min to get an appetizer.
If you want a nice place with great atmosphere and you have some time, this would be a great place. The tuna was excellent. Beer is not served in the proper glassware, but I am a beer snob :) boston city prices too.

I had a wonderful dinner at 49 Social while in town for business. Wine list was good and reasonable. I had rhe salmon and it was delicious. Service was attentive. Pleasant atmosphere. Glad I stumbled on this restaurant near my hotel.

“The owner must care, but the reception is indifferent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

In the "Ladder District." Reasonably priced, eclectic menu and I had one of he best rib eye dishes ever. The pork belly confit was excellent as an appetizer, and creme brûlée dessert delectable. Tables in the rear are spaced well so you're not sitting on top,of one another. Special requests are accommodated. Don't sit across from the bar when it's full or you'll have to shout at one another. All in All good, but every time I've been there you get the "Did you want something?" Look rather than "Good evening, Are you joining us for dinner" welcome.

“Some mistakes, overall very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

I was at 49 Social one week for cocktails, and then returned the following week for business dinner, based on good experience the previous week. There were 4 of us, 1 ordered the pork chop, 2 ordered the cod, 1 ordered rib eye and lobster risotto. The potato latke with the cod was tough and way overcooked. The lobster risotto had no chunks of lobster and the risotto was not creamy. Coffee was cool and had grind in it..the server said it had been made 1 hour previously. Everything else was very good. I'd return, but if there were problems again, I would not go back a 4th time. Note that if there are a lot of folks in the bar area, this is a very loud restaurant and the only quite eating space will be in the back by the kitchen.

“You will say "Wow!"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

You don't get food this good very many places. Chef Lishchynsky puts his own spin on old favorites like French Onion Soup, which was, by the way, was amazing in that kind of spoon-dropping first-taste amazing. My wife started with the Chef's Spring Salad. When she saw it, she said "Darn, I could have made this at home." But when she tasted it she said "Wow!" She is an amazing cook with a sophisticated palate so this is no small compliment.

For a main course I had the Pasta Primavera and she had the Marinated Grilled Swordfish. The pasta primavera used house-made pasta and it showed - very, very nice dish. The swordfish generated more wows from my wife. She took half home and is looking forward to having it for dinner tonight.
