“Great Food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

The 6 of us all enjoyed the seafood, it was so fresh and completely amazing. We were seated outside, overlooking the Harbor and loved the view. The restaurant is also known for it's "Black" pasta [made with squid ink]. We would definitely eat here again!

“Avoid at all costs! (Would give a zero if I could)”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

If greasy, disgusting "handmade" noodles at an insanely high price, served in a crammed, dingy place with a bathroom worse than a bus depot is your thing, then The Daily Catch is your restaurant. For the rest of us, it is a nasty rip-off to be avoided at all costs. I travel regularly for business and leisure, all over the globe. I have eaten in plenty of dives with great food, as well as overpaid for bad food, however, The Daily Catch is in a class of its own. Each lousy, tasteless "handmade" noodle dish was more than $25 each plus a shameless group tax of 18% for non-existent service from what appeared to be an ex-bouncer. I've had better food at no-name mall food courts. We brought European friends here based on its inclusion in the latest Fodor's Boston guide. What a mistake! We inquired about the lobster, knowing from experience that lobster is at an all-time price low, to the extent that supermarkets are selling the big guys at a massive discount. The cook blatantly lied, saying that lobster is at an all-time high on the world market. We were so grossed out by the experience top to bottom that the only good choice we made was skipping dessert and getting out of there. The final indignity was the cash-only demand. Probably it's the way The Daily Catch ensures that you can't complain to your credit card company. Save yourself, and stay away from this place.

“An OK restaurant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

We went to the restaurant following a ta recommendation and it was ok. the food was good especially the fish of course but it was not the best... the waiter told us these are all family size dishes so we can share them, but it was not that big at all and whoever shared was not so full in the end. The price was pretty expensive. Over all it was ok, the food was nice, there is space for big tables, and it is right next to the water.

“Best dinner I've ever had in a closet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

So let's get this started with there are 2 restaurants called The daily catch. This one on Hanover in the North end. Then there is also one "The Daily Catch Seaport" @ 2 Northern Avenue. I don't believe they are related and in some of the reviews here they talk of a harbor view. Yeah that's not this restaurant.

Ok so this daily catch has 5 tables and a total of 20 seats. It's cash only. The service is average at best, but not lacking. One guy manages the line outside, the tables, the phones, and anything else that's not in the kitchen. Did I mention this place is tight seating? Drinks are in plastic a 4 top table is likely to be split with another couple you don't know. OK but all that aside it's an experience and just a lot of fun. Every day a fresh menu on the chalkboard (no paper menus) with fresh italian and seafood. I wish I would have had the squid ink pasta. The Calamari people raved about was only average, but my fish was delicious. I'd do it again.

“Unforgettable dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

Seating is first come, first serve & tables are shared with other guests. You feel like you are sitting in an italian kitchen watching the chef prepare your order. Black pasta with squid, garlic is amazing. The salad was so fresh with delicious dressing. After 43 yrs of marriage, we feel this evening was one of the most memorable.
