“Great Irish Pub right in downtown Boston”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

I went to Emmets on a recent Saturday night with some friends. The place was packed with folks from a holiday party. The service was great and the food was as well. We got some onion soup, fish and chips, Shepherds Pie and a couple of burgers. Everyone liked their food - especially the onion soup. My only complaint is that the bathrooms are in the basement down a steep flight of stairs.

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

We sought out this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend, who had been there and loved it. We were so surprised by the horrible service we had. Our waitress was rushed and disinterested. It took her forever to take our drink order, in fact, someone else came and took it, and then, the same thing happened with our food order. The restaurant was completely empty at the time, so she wasn't too busy. Thankfully, the food was pretty good, when it finally arrived, but we never did see our waitress again.... until, we saw her standing outside the restaurant smoking a cigarette on our way out. I don't know if she just up and quit during our visit, or if she got off her shift and just didn't bother to tell us, but needless to say, her tip was ZERO.

“Irish-Mexican”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

Emmet's is centrally located and well-priced, offering a slightly odd range of Irish-themed and Mexican dishes, as well as a full (and active) bar. The food is pretty good (menu recently revised), as are the prices - about $10 for a fairly large sandwich and sides. The appetizers are big enough to share or to serve as entrees. Service is OK at best. The adjacent 6B space, with the same menu, is more drink-oriented but also a little quieter and more private.

“Steak tips!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

Emmets was a great find, just for drinks the atmosphere was great and I had an amazing glass of Malbec.

We decided to eat and I enquired about steak tips - not something we see on the menus in England. It was amazing, fabulous smaller cuts of steak, no fatty bits no messing about, all fantastically cooked!
My boyfriend had the pork which was unfortunately undercooked :( He had to send it back, which he hates doing. The staff were very apologetic and brought a new meal out quickly but I felt a good will gesture wouldn't have gone amiss.

It wasn't enough to put me off though and I would highly recommend a trip to Emmets!
