I ate here in early Sep. with my college age son. This is an extremely small restaurant - maybe 10 or 12 tables, at most (and some of those are 2-tops). We walked in without a reservation on Sunday evening (holiday weekend) and were seated right away, but right next to the open front door - literally. It is very cramped. It appeared to me that the kitchen, which was visible from the dining area, was smaller than my walk in closet - truly. Perhaps there is a prep kitchen and fridge/freezer hidden from view, but the place where the chef(s) appeared to be cooking food was extremely small.
We didn't order wine or drinks with dinner, and maybe that started us off on a bad note, but the service went downhill pretty rapidly thereafter. They do provide bread with an olive oil dipping sauce, which was good, but they didn't offer to bring more bread when our basket was empty.
Everything is a la carte, so we also didn't order appetizers or salads (again, probably lost us points with the server).
My son ordered the lobster ravioli, which he said was excellent, and he finished it all (i.e. - not huge portions). I ordered the chicken piccatta. The sauce was good, but the chicken was either not tenderized, or not cut right or something. It was very chewy/tough. It was served with roasted vegetables, which were very good. There was a generous portion of this dish, so enough to take some home for another meal.
No one ever came to ask if our meals were good, if we needed anything else, etc. They might have refilled the water glasses when the meals were delivered, but not after that.
After we finished eating and got the to go box, we sat for at least 10 minutes or more with no one bringing us our check. It was the oddest thing. Then, once we asked them for the check, and they took the credit card, it was another 10 minutes plus for them to bring the receipt for signature. I have no idea what took so long to process it. It seemed like the owner/manager was arguing/discussing something with one of the chefs, who seemed to be not working, for some reason. They were full, but no line of customers waiting to get in the door. So, the delay after dinner was more than irritating.
Honestly, I'm not sure the owner/manager or the servers (we never could figure out who our server actually was - different people kept coming to our table) are even Italian. The food was, but I'm not sure any of them were.
I would not go back, mostly because of the (non) service. And, only 1 of our 2 entrees was really worth the price.
