“Standards and service slipping”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

I have eaten here over 10 times over the past 5 years. This visit was after a break of a year and the standards are clearly slipping. There used to be a great host to meet you, this time I was met by one of the waitresses who seated me. I ordere the tuna tartare which was good but not great. Then I ordered an old favourite, the crab and avocado salad. This used to be almost completely crab and avocado only but now it had lots of water cress and cucumber added which was horrible. There was lots of chatter from the chefs behind the sushi bar, I guess they were bored as it was 7.30 on a Saturday night (used to be packed at this time in the old days) . The place was always dark and cold. Needs a complete re-design and a fresh approach to the food and service

“Colder than the fish”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

The sashimi and rolls were great. The restaurant was FREEZING. We, and all the tables around us, asked that the temperature be adjusted and were all told that the hotel controlled the temperature and it was always that cold. Ridiculous, and we had to leave once the shivering became uncontrollable.

“Convenient to the Westin Copley, but quality of the fish is disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

We had an expensive meal at this restaurant and were surprised how each piece of sushi seemed to have been recently thawed. Their sake selection is good (although our top two choices were unavailable) and the menu is interesting, but I'm sure you can find better options for sushi in Boston

“Ok sushi/sashimi. Definitely overpriced.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

This is average food that is expensive for the standard. Staff a mixed bag. Setting is fairly nice. I wouldn't be bothered about going again.
