Description: The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods - really fresh fish. Enjoy ocean-side dining just steps from the New England Aquarium. Our restaurant couldn't be more convenient to the Financial District, Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall and waterfront hotels. We think a visit to Boston must include a meal at Legal Sea Foods. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there's no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. We've received a boatload of accolades including "Most Popular Boston Restaurant" (Zagat, 2011/2012), "Best Seafood Restaurant" (Improper Bostonian, 2010), "Best Chowder" (Boston Magazine, 2010), "Best Seafood Restaurant" (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

“Great food, Bad staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2014

My husband and I were on our first trip to Boston and had heard from multiple sources we should definitely eat at Legal Seafood. We ended up at the location next to the Aquarium on our second to last night. Our food selections, the Crab Cake combo and Wood Grilled Trio, were fantastic and thoroughly impressed both of us. We both grew up eating a wide variety of seafood in Florida and Louisiana and we agreed this was some of the best we had ever had. The only drawback was the staff of the restaurant. Our waiter took several minutes to even acknowledge our presence and when he did, he was very condescending. He did not tell us any of the specials and it seemed like a second thought to stop and actually take our order in the first place. He never made eye contact and walked away before we finished ordering. Many of the other staff members seemed to have little else better to do than stand around staring rudely at the patrons. Honestly, the staff made us feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable, which was a shame given the fantastic meal they served us. I would recommend trying a different location for this Boston favorite.

“excellent meal and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2014

My husband and I were wanting to have a nice casual seafood dinner while here in Boston. Since we were still new to finding our way around- we were able to navigate our way to this restaurant with using the T. Our server (I think her name was Jessie) was absolutely wonderful and made our dinner wonderful. We both ordered the same meal (neither of us knowing that would happen!) The fish was probably some of the best that I have had in a long time. As well, the scallops were literally melt in your mouth good. We were offered a maple bread pudding, but turned it down due to dinner being so good- now I wish we had gotten some! All in all, it was a wonderful evening!

“Consistent, fresh, and delicious sea food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

Because it is convenient and predictable, we end up at this restaurant almost every time we are in Boston. It was not different this time. I had raw oysters to start and they were superb. Then I had the Ciopino, which was also very good. The service was perfect and our party of 8+ was very happy.

“Such good sea food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014

What a lovely Crabcake, and a good trio of calamari as starters. Another trio of fish + shrimps and scallops, perfectly cooked, with broccoli topped with cheese and baked potatoes. All perfectly cooked with a nice balance of tastes. Excellent service from the waiter.

“VERY VERY FRESH SEAFOOD AND GREAT SERVICE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2014

This place is a must for seafood lovers. Easily accessible by subway (aquarium station) it is on the wharf. The food is pricey but worth every penny since you have top quality seafood. We loved the cioppino and the crabcakes.
