A smart hotel in a smart place! Family room very spacious with large comfortable beds. Excellent bathroom. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great location too. Easy walking distance to all major sites including Duck Tour, Boston Common and Mass Ave.

Stayed at this hotel for 9 nights in January 2015.
The good...
Location - the hotel is nicely situated roughly a 5 minute walking mid-point between the Copely Square and Boston Common areas in the Back Bay.
Room - not a bad size for a city center hotel and it was clean and up to date.
Hotel - nice restaurant (but expensive), free hot drinks in the foyer - very welcome in the winter. Staff friendly.
The not so good...
The gym was small and disappointingly limited and the TVs didn't work.
While the quality of the food in the restaurant was very good it was very expensive. $30 per head for a nicely cooked but small breakfast was not great in my opinion. Also, I felt as a guest at the hotel paying $200+ per night I didn't get any benefit over a walk-in in the bar or restaurant.
Overall, good hotel in an excellent location but limited in some aspects and expensive.

Perfect location, great hotel and amazing service. The staff could not be any more helpful. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. The only down side was that staying on the 8th floor the water pressure was bad, but we returned 3 days later and stayed on the 4th floor and all was good in the world of showers! The restaurant/bar in the hotel "The Precinct" is great. We had breakfast every morning, good selection on the menu (share the breakfast sandwich, it was yummy and huge, they also make a mean cappuccino). Drinks in the evening at the bar was nice. Like almost every where else in Boston a drink will set you back about $14. Location was great, loads of pubs, restaurants and sites near by. We walked everywhere. Loved this place, will definitely return.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have free wifi check the fine print. Lower level rooms have better water pressure, we...

The staff (and the lobby!) were great. But the room was super tiny (i think most of the extra square footage I paid for was for an oddly placed and pretty unusable foyer area). The bedding and wifi were terrific. I also felt like the location of the hotel was just a couple of blocks outside of what i'd consider ideal placement, especially for the price.

Room Tip: we paid up for a corner room with more space. personally, i think the view was terrible and the extr...

I have stayed at the Loews for several years now and had little complaint. The rooms are certainly nicely appointed. Since the remodel, the rooms are comfortale. Beware--you better ask if your room has mini bar. Mine came without one. I did not mind that much but the walk to 7-11 on Berkley and Tremont in snow flurries was a bit inconvenient. The team at Loews are certainly nice so stay by all means. Just dont count on the sparkling water being handy.

Room Tip: You reallly can't go wrong. Each room is comfortable from my experience.

Have been coming to Boston from the UK for over 20 years and this is the best hotel we've stayed in yet. Perfect location with easy walking access of everywhere you would want to go. Not too big and not too small the hotel you certainly feel like a genuine guest. Excellent front staff in every way - very personable and very efficient. All hotel areas are very stylish and well presented to a high standard with free WiFi and coffee in the lobby - great TV screen! Rooms are exactly what you need and after a transatlantic flight from the UK the bed was just what was needed. Great bar snack in the Precinct bar - burger highly recommended. Only disappointment was the poor waiting staff at breakfast - could be more attentive and given we were the only guests at the time - a bit quicker on the day. I'm sure this will be sorted and certainly not a reason to avoid a stay. We will be back!

Not only has the Loews refurbished the rooms which is really noticeable; the beds are THE most COMFORTABLE beds we have ever stayed in! Giant TV screens, great bath, armchairs and working table, free WIFI, and...and...

AMAZING STAFF! LOVELY. SO HELPFUL! Nothing is too much bother.
Heather is great on anything tourism related and Rebecca and her team at Front Desk
are outstanding. In fact, all the people at Loews are AMAZING!
And we were very demanding! Also their restaurant PRECINCT serves really good food ( a french chef no less) and they've got an express menu for US$ 10-12 which is really tasty (and affordable).
Loews have a really nice sitting area with free wifi, multiple TV screens and free coffee, tea, hot chocolate, mocha etc. AND most importantly, Loews is in an excellent location, close to Boyston Street; plenty of shopping and lovely restaurants: Atlantic Fish Restaurant, Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack and all the super branded shops of Newbury Street.
Thinking Cup and Wired Cup is also nice there for a coffee.
