“Excellent choice.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

Spent four nights at the Loews, Boston. Couldn't have chose better. We had a twin room, two queen size beds, bedding like silk, room opulent and very clean. Every member of staff made us feel comfortable and welcome. Concierge very approachable and helpful. Only negative was breakfast price. We felt it was rather high although cannot fault the restaurant staff or the food on offer. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Nice quaint hotel. Staff are friendly and it is well located.
Rooms are good, but the front doors seem to not be overly sound proofed, you can hear what goes on in the hallway which is a bit annoying.
But overall a very good stay

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a king. I got a double.

We stayed at the Loews Boston for 4 nights in early August on a vacation. The location was good – about a block or two to Copley & public transportation. It’s also only a couple blocks from the Amtrak Back Bay Station. It was an easy walk to Boston Common, shopping/dining around the Back Bay Area & the Prudential Center.

We stayed in a Deluxe King room, and our room was nicely appointed with a very comfortable bed. The hotel also offers free Wifi, super comfy bathrobes & a mini-fridge, which I found to be handy. The room was quiet, and we didn’t hear much noise besides the odd police/ambulance siren at night. My main complaint with the room was with the bathroom. The vanity was pretty, but it was super tiny with no room to store any of my toiletries. There aren’t any shelves either, so I had to keep all my toiletries in a drawer by the TV & keep going back and forth to grab things, which was annoying. Also, I was talking on the hotel room cordless phone on two different evenings, and both times the battery died mid-conversation (only about 15-20 minutes long).

Housekeeping was normally very good, however 2 out of 4 days we had to call them to bring us coffee cups and pods for the coffee maker since they hadn’t replaced them from the day before. All staff we encountered at the hotel were very friendly and helpful.

Overall, a pretty hotel in a nice location. A few minor issues, but I would stay here again.

Spent one night at this hotel. King room very comfortable and location perfect for my meeting about one block from the John Hancock Center. Great neighborhood with numerous restaurants and shops walking distance. I have stayed at other high-end hotels in the vicinity and the Loews a much better value at probably 50% of the average nightly rate.

We spent a night here in late June and the entire experience was excellent. The rate was significantly less than a number of other hotels in Boston that are of the same quality level. They let us check in early. Everybody at the front desk and the rest of the hotel staff were extremely nice. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was top notch; large, great shower. They let us leave our bags with the valet for a couple of hours after we checked out. Fantastic hotel!

I stayed in this hotel for business. Location is really great, easy walk to Copley and public transportation. The hotel does a nice job waving down cabs The room I had was very comfortable and facing an inner wall, so dark, but quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom, however, was quite banged up in the room I stayed. Still, they do a nice job keeping it clean. Altogether a good choice in Boston, with a highly professional and friendly staff.

We recently stayed at the Loews Boston Hotel. The Hotel was recently purchased by Loews. The location is great, near Copley Square, but DO NOT use the Wifi. The hotel uses "Super Click". This means that everything you do will potentially be tracked. They don't warn you at all. If you aren't aware of this, you could potentially be giving them personal details without any warning or disclaimer. If you want the geeky details, here's a link: http://m.slashdot.org/story/78344
Fortunately, I saw the browser redirection and quickly blocked it before compromising any privacy.

The room was really pretty good. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The desk chair tilt and height mechanism was broken making the chair completely unusable and a bit dangerous.
Suggested improvements would include additional accessible outlets for charging portable electronic devices and CPAP machines. I shouldn't have to unplug a light fixture to have access to an outlet. I'd happily swap the inconveniently located heated towel rack (over the toilet), for a couple convenient USB charging ports. The lack of a good powered ventilation fan in the bathroom seemed odd as well. Quibbles aside, the staff was friendly, helpful, and very attentive. For $300 a night, The overall experience was only OK.

Dear John B,
Thank you very much for sharing your experience and your concerns. Loews purchased the hotel 6 months ago and we plan on refurbishing the majority of our guest room in January of next year. My apologies that we did not correct the broken desk chair prior to your arrival and I agree with your assessment of outlets and USB ports. Having just completed our model room in anticipation of our renovation, there will be 2 outlets on each side of the bed at eye height as well as 2 outlets at the desk plus at least one and perhaps a second USB port…so we will address this shortcoming very soon!

I do want to address the article you posted and your comments about Superclick. The article you posted is five years old. Loews did their due diligence prior to rolling Superclick out to all of our properties and was very well aware of this article and addressed it. Back in 2006 Superclick launched the Media Distribution System (MDS), an online content delivery market through MDS to hoteliers conference and event centers and an online advertising through brands/hotels landing page/banners.

However, the market didn’t respond favorably towards this new service and Superclick received significant push back from existing customers so in 2007 the MDS was decommissioned and completely removed from their product offerings. There is no reason to be concerned about using our wifi.

I hope this helps clarify any concerns. Thank you!
