“Wonderful accomodations, but not clean.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2010

The room was everything that we could have hoped for. We got a suite, last minute, for very cheap. The front desk was more than accommodating for all our needs.

The only thing I will complain about is the cleanliness of the rooms. As a housekeeper for a high end inn, maybe I'm a little picky, but I spotted lots of hairs in the tub and bathroom as well as blood or some stains on the walls. I feel like the housekeeping staff could take a little more time to make this hotel a great value.

Also the linens were poor and when I called down to get a couple of extra comforters (I mean, it's cold in April in New England!!) they said they had no more and brought up a very thin and worn fleece blanket as a substitute.

The Marriott was extremely comfortable and clean. I slept so well. We had a room that overlooked the harbor and we could see the Old North Church. It was just blocks away from the Italian neighborhood and Faneuil Hall. I would definitely recommend it.

My wife, son (almost 3), and I stayed for Easter weekend. (2 nights)

First off, I couldn't be more pleased with the staff. From parking attendant to housekeeping EVERYBODY was accommodating and friendly!

This is a great fit hotel if you are staying with family. Very clean, plenty of room, and the ability to use the kitchen with microwave and refridgerator helps solve several small issues that might come up when trying to feed kids....and adults for that matter.

The Freedom Trail is right across the street and takes you to the Bunker Hill Monument, and the Harbor where the USS Constitution is. (Pretty cool for a guy who teaches Am. History)

The hotel is in the Charlestown area so if you want to stay in the heart of downtown Boston this isn't the best choice BUT it is a short walk over a bridge into the "Little Italy" North End.

Parking is expensive, but I guess that comes with the teritory in a city like this.

Pool is small, but nice.

The complimentary breakfast was great!

The view from our room on the 8th floor....AWESOME!

I would stay here again if we come back as a family :)

My wife and I stayed here for three nights on a business/pleasure trip. The location, just on the north side of the Charlestown Bridge, is fine if you're walkers, as we are. We had an excellent room overlooking the harbor (not the road), with a view of boats and the bay. Quiet and peaceful with not one sound from any neighbors up, down, or to either side. The hotel must have very good soundproofing. Our requests were met fully. The rooms (bedroom and a sort of living room) were clean and well-designed. Price was fair. I would recommend this hotel fully, but for one complaint. Getting out of the taxi from the airport, we were greeted by loud, tacky international-style rock music that no one in the lobby or dining area can escape from, twenty-four hours. This incessant music caused us to retreat upstairs for our breakfasts (carrying our oatmeal and toast on the elevator) and negated any reading or easy hanging out in the lobby. Well, maybe most people like it, and maybe the hotel has it on all the time to deter the dreaded boredom people are so afraid of, but it cheapens an otherwise high quality place.

Nice view of the river and marina, and an easy walk to the Garden for shows/events. The room was not very clean. There were multiple smudges and specks on the walls, doors, sink/faucet, etc. and the furniture was worn. The linens were of a very poor quality, with thin, scratchy towels in the bath area and old, droopy pillows on the bed. The breakfast was nice and the eating area is very cozy - fireplace and views of the marina.

So we stayed 3 nights. we took Amtrak into Boston from Albany and got a cab from South Station, $13.00 with tip. the room was great with 2 rooms , 2 TVs afull kitchen. the pool satisified the 12 and 13 year old and the breakfast (free included was great). Internet is included free. ohers have complained about the location but we found many restaurants and sights to see. You could see the masts of the Constitution from our room. we overlooked a marina. The water shuttle was $1.70 each and let us off right at the Aquarium, this shuttle was a 8 minute walk from our room. Taxis are always available and we found a place to eat within walking ditance on Saturday night at 9:45 PM. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful and there is even free food weeknights. The location is not an issue.
