5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

This was the 1st time I had ever gone to Boston and I must say this is a splendid hotel to stay at. Everything was very clean and the hotel was very well kept. Breakfast was fantastic and what really caught my attention was the waffle station. Everyone was able to make their own waffles and top them off however they wanted. What I also loved about the hotel was the bed, the bed is just amazingly comfy , warming, and great to be really relax, I just didn't want to get out of bed, that's how good its mattress is. For me that's a big plus because usually hotel beds usually aren't that great to sleep in. Also the staff were all very kind and helpful. Best of all everything was pretty close by the hotel. If your not a walker, well the ferry is just a 10 min walk from the hotel. There's as well a couple of attractions nearby the hotel, like the U.S.S Constitution Ship and the Bunker Hill Monument. So on my pt. I give the hotel a BIG THUMBS UP and I'm definitely staying there again when I visit Boston again. =]

From the moment you arrive, the staff is there to help. From restaurant suggestions (and they were very good suggestions!) to coordinating our schedule they were all very helpful. Rooms are very comfortable and CLEAN. Breakfast actually changed each day for a little variety and the staff once again was on top of keeping things fresh and tables cleared. Location is just amazing, you can get the tour bus 1 block over at the USS constitution or hop on the freedom trail at the front door. Close to North End and a beautiful view of the river.

This hotel is wonderful. The front desk staff is friendly, helpful and welcoming. We were in town for a celtics game and this hotel is very close to the garden. We were able to walk to the arena in just a few minutes. Our room was very clean and we enjoyed having a living room and bedroom. The breakfast had many choices and was very good. I kook forward to staying at this property again when I visit Boston again.

We first stayed at this hotel 5 years ago when our son was in Boston for medical reasons. He and I were here July thru October and this hotel became our home. It's got to be the friendliest hotel in Boston - if not the entire USA!! The staff here are like family, so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The rooms are really clean and even the cleaning staff go above and beyond.

A complimentary breakfast is included in the cost of the room and it's not just a cup of coffee!! Hot and cold cereals, breakfast pasteries, muffins, waffles, fresh fruit, the lot. Really, really good.

We stayed at a different Marriott closer to town in February - much classier look, but just didn't compare to the friendly, homliness of the Residence Inn!!

We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Boston. Hands down the best!!

Room Tip: No in-house restaurant, but there are quite a few close by - 5 min walk - close to grocery store and...

We stayed 5 nights and were very happy. Wonderful breakfast (lots of options, hot and cold food) was offered each day that was included in the price of room and the room was very comfortable and a good size for 2 adults and a teenager and if you like to walk this is a great place to stay. We walked just about everywhere (Bruin's game, Bunker Hill and Freedom Trail, North End, Faneuil Hall, subway). Only took a cab to get to and from airport and the subway to the JFK museum. Staff was always very helpful when asked directions or about dining options in the area. The view from our room was the building next door, but the view was not a priority for us.

We appreciate your review, as you’ve shared great information regarding the many transportation options in our area. As you’ve mentioned, we’re conveniently located just steps from TD Garden, the Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall, etc. For the attractions that are located a little further away, such as the JFK Presidential Library and Museum, a quick ride on the subway or the T can get you there in no time. We’re delighted that our location and suite accommodations worked out so well for you and we hope we get the opportunity to welcome you back to the Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Harbor on Tudor Wharf. Thank you.

After reading other reviews here on Tripadvisor, I decided to book a 1br suite with a harbor view. I must say, this hotel didn't disappoint. Check-in was easy and we got right in despite arriving a few hours early. There's a parking lot behind the hotel that is a little cheaper than the valet the hotel offers, so we did that. The room is what I thought it'd be. Clean, very comfortable bed, and basic bathroom. The kitchen is nice to have, and while the store downstairs has a limited selection and was on the expensive side, it was nice to pick a few things up that first night.

Pros:
Needing your room key to use the elevator. This is a nice security feature.

Free wifi. I can't remember the last time a hotel offered free internet access.

Breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was very good, and there were a lot of options. The dinner is more of a limited selection, and I wouldn't actually count on it being your real "dinner." The first night was pasta, pasta sauce, and chicken: "soul food." We had a big lunch at the Cheesecake Factory, and probably wouldn't have went out for dinner and ended up hungry at some point, but this mini-dinner from 6-730 hit the spot. Also, I've seen some people bring up the plastic silverware and plates as a negative thing. It's a free meal, so I didn't mind it at all. Plus, it's not like they give you flimsy stuff, it was all very durable.

Location. The location is excellent.

Price. The price was very reasonable, especially with all the extras (free wifi, food). I've stayed at the Marriott Long Wharf which isn't too far from here before, and I paid more for a basic room there than I did for a suite in this hotel. I'd never stay at the Long Wharf again after discovering this hotel.

Cons:
The view. My "harbor view" is more of a parking lot view. So if I were to book here again (which I would), I probably wouldn't pay the extra money for a harbor view.

The pool. The pool is small, I mean really small. But that wasn't too big of a deal to me, although it would have been nice to take a swim.

Hope this helps.

It’s always nice when a guest takes the time to share a review as detailed as yours. We truly appreciated learning about the certain areas of your trip that impressed you, such as our complimentary wireless Internet and dining services. Thank you and we hope you’ll return soon to the Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Harbor on Tudor Wharf.

Hotel offers lower "no cancellation " price which we took. Unexpected change in weather brought significant amount of snow & we were able to change arrival & departure dates by a day with no issues. We were visiting family who lived close and would certainly come back here again.
