4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2012

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights from Thursday night to Saturday and it was a good stay. The room was clean and the hotel was quiet. I flew in from San Diego for an interview in Jamaica Plain and the staff was helpful in detailing how to get to my destination. Some of the staff was not very animated nor genuinely friendly but they helped nonetheless. Two staff in particular were very nice and very helpful in terms of recommending food and fun places to visit in a short amount of time. Check in was easy as was checkout and the continental breakfast was good. I booked through Travel Zoo and paid $69 a day which was very reasonable compared to the other hotels in the area. The location is great, its within walking distance of pretty much any amenities you may need like food and transportation. I would really recommend this hotel. The only downside was that the tub in the shower was kinda outdated and not very nice looking kinda yellowish in color but aside from that the rest was great.

Stayed last night for a conference I was attending at Boston College. Got a phenomenal deal on Travelzoo. How can it be that for $69 you get to stay in a comfortable room in a really choice neighborhood? Yet it is so (through March, and if you book by Jan.15) Oh and you get a nice continental breakfast in the deal. The manager explained that there is a new owner who also owns the very ritzy Lenox Hotel. They are looking to cultivate a following with the Travelzoo deal and he says they have "big plans" for renovation.GREAT, I say! This property is now called the Boston Common Hotel. It is far from "common".
