“Short but very special stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

We stayed here for a couple of nights at the end of our holiday in the USA. We arrived an hour before the check in time so we were very appreciative of not being made to wait for our room but being given a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite which we could access immediately. Not only did this mean we had spacious and luxurious accommodation, it also meant we did not have to waste any valuable time waiting for our room - with only two days in Boston every minute was precious to us. We very much appreciated this thoughtful and generous gesture.
The hotel is fabulous. It is spacious and luxurious, but staff are friendly and helpful and we were made to feel very welcome. Our suite was wonderful. The bed was huge! Also extremely comfortable. The bathroom and separate toilet were lovely too, and the sitting area was very nice to relax in at the end of a long day sight seeing. Unlike another recent reviewer, we found there were plenty of power points for charging equipment.
We were a little worried that the hotel would be too far out of Boston to be convenient for us, but as it is just opposite a T station it was ideal and it was very easy to quickly get to and from wherever we wanted to go.
During our stay we managed to fit in a walk on the common, a walk along the waterside past where the Boston tea party took place and along to the South side, a sunset cruise, the 'red line' historical trail, taking in a number of interesting monuments and areas, ending up at USS Constitution, a visit to the JFK museum, not to mention several lovely meals! All in all a lovely end to our holiday, made extra special by the friendly and helpful staff at this lovely hotel. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Awesome staff, very clean, looks great! My only issues were: Not enough power outlets for chargers etc. Many of the modern hotels (like Aloft) have very clever power outlets ON the desk. I had to dig behind the bed to find a power outlet.

clean, friendly, spacious rooms and upscale without being stuffy
I travelled with my children and they were thrilled. We ordered room service, it was prompt and delicious. You have to pay to park which added $45 per night to tab. It is right near the Kenmore T.

The hotel Commonwealth was exceptional, and I would truly recommend it for a stay for a family or a business stay in Boston! We had a view of Fenway park, and it was our first time in Boston, what an experience. The room was very clean and well maintained, the only thing I found wrong was that the fruit was already stocked with beer, wine, water and food. So you really had no place to put a doggy bag from the local restaurants.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with a Fenway view it's awesome to see history!

My husband and I were in town for a baseball game and this hotel was absolutely wonderful. It's in a perfect location and it was very nice. Will definitely stay here again. Can't say enough about this hotel. When we got to the hotel the staff asked if we wanted to upgrade to a junior suite for $30 more a night. It was so nice and the bathroom was fabulous. I can't remember the last time I had a jacuzzi bathtub in a hotel room. It was nice after a long day of walking. I've never been offered that from any hotel before. Thank you very much!!!!

Great location for Fenway Park. Easy walk to the park. We stayed the weekend for the Boston/Yankee series. Front desk was great in helping us plan our day in Boston. Hotel was clean and quiet and very relaxing. We had a suite which was very roomy and nice. Would definitely return.
