“nice hotel close to the shopping area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

I enjoyed staying in this hotel. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Hotel staff friendly and keen to help. Only thing that I think can be improved is the in room dinning menu. It is both boring and very limited in options and I was not impressed with the quality of the meals. Minus the in room dinning experience I would not hesitate to stay in this place again. It is perhaps a bit to close to the busy baseball stadium as far as access to the metro goes (but the sound insulation is spectacular and it was not an issue in terms of getting a rest).

As frequent visitors to Boston, we were very impressed with our first stay at Hotel Commonwealth last weekend. Exceptional service from the minute we arrived. Room was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The location is excellent. You are on the outskirts of Boston University's campus with the Kenmore T stop literally at the front door. You are also walking distance from Fenway as well as Newbury Street and Copley Square for shopping and dining. While it is more expensive than other area hotels, you are getting a luxury hotel experience. Will definitely stay there again.

We are originally from Boston and come back often. This trip was for a Red Sox game. As such, it was a perfect location for us. But considering how the Kenmore area's been amazingly improved, we will stay here again, Sox game or not! The service staff are phenomenal; the location Boston perfect; rooms felt European luxurious- esp. bedding to die for-seriously; and finally, two top Boston restaurants. We will get a reservation ahead of time for Oyster place. But, we were beyond delighted with our "Eastern Standard" restaurant dinner and breakfast, al fresco.
All this and relatively low prices.
I don't get it, but you gotta LOVE this place. And we DO!

First Trip to Boston to see the RedSox play. Co-worker recommended Hotel Commonwealth. Room looked right out over the ball park. Accommodations were pristine, comfortable, cozy and quiet. All staff were professional, friendly & extremely helpful. Not once were we ignored nor made to feel uncomfortable for any reason. Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: If you are a RedSox fan, choose a room that looks out on the ball park. The room we had on the 3rd...

Stayed too nites at beginning and end of week at cape cod. Valet parking was expensive at 40$. There is no self park. Check in was smooth, and we were allowed early check in. Rooms are large and are different rates as the rooms facing Fenway park are more expensive. Beds were luxurious and bathe were marble. Very quiet. The hotel has printed running maps in each room. Two good restaurants, eastern standard which serves three meals, and island house oyster bar is not to be missed.
Check out is a
Breeze.
Fenway is a five-minute walk.

Room Tip: Stay in one of the Fenway rooms

Arrived early and our room was not ready, but no worries, spent the day at Quincy Market and they sent me a text as soon as our room was ready! Received an upgrade to the Junior Suite, what a pleasant surprise. I absolutely loved the hotel and will be telling everyone that comes to a Game or just Boston in general to stay at this hotel. The service was spectacular and I have absolutely nothing to say negative, which is rare in your industry. I hope to come back again. Loved the special little touches such as the lemon water and the bellhops always saying good morning and opening the door for us. I work in a service related industry and believe that the customter is King and you should ALWAYS treat the customer the way that you would want to be treated. THANKS AGAIN
