“Great stay Easter weekend!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2012

Beautiful hotel in a great area. We loved our room with a view of Fenway Park. Everything was spotlessly clean and in great condition. I had called a few times before we arrived and everyone was so polite and helpful that my expectations for the hotel were very high - and they delivered! They asked if we would like a Keurig in our room, YES, restocked with coffee and tea everyday :-) They knew we were traveling with a baby and had a refrig in the room as well. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We asked a ton of questions about using the T and walking to different areas and they always steered us in the right direction. There is a T station 20 feet outside of the hotel. You can easily walk to Newbury Street, the Prudential Center and Fenway from this hotel. We had to call housekeeping for 2 different things (pack N play and pillows) both times they were at our room within 5 minutes with what we needed. Housekeeping was very friendly as were the door men. We traveled with our 3 kids ages 11, 9 and 2. They loved to hotel and especially the comp computer room off of the lobby. We look forward to staying at the Hotel Commonwealth on future trips to Boston. Thanks for a great stay!!!

Room Tip: If you are a Red Sox fan, get a Fenway Room. Theres nothing like waking up to the park every mornin...

We recently went on a college tour with our son to visit Harvard, Princeton, Yale and Columbia. Our first stop was Boston, where we stayed at Hotel Commonwealth. After our stay at this hotel, no others could compare! From the wonderful reservation agent, to the friendly doorman, concierge, front desk staff and management...everyone was so welcoming and helpful. The beds were great, too! I also need to mention their restaurant, Island Creek Oyster Bar. The selection of oysters were marvelous and my husband made it his personal goal to try oysters in every restaurant across the four states...none could compare. We had rented a car for the trip, but it was unnecessary while at Hotel Commonwealth. The hotel is so conveniently located. It is the ONLY place to stay in Boston! We now know first hand why they are rated #1 In Boston. --Vicki K.

The Hotel Commonwealth is one of those lovely establishments where you will be delighted and impressed by the service. My family adored the staff and our suite with a separate sitting area was very nice indeed. They went out of their way to help my mom with an issue she was having with her portable oxygen equipment. Great location, good restaurants and of course Fenway Park is nearby. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Stay on the Commonwealth Ave side!

Recently visited Boston with friends for the marathon and I am delighted that we had the pleasure of staying here! The service that we received from each and every staff member was exceptional! They managed to keep things professional while also making us feel right at home with their personal touch. After my friend was finished running the marathon, we returned to his room to find a plaque congratulating him with his name and finish time. This was a nice surprise as it may have been his last year running for a while and he was able to leave with something special to remember it. Room and bathroom were both spacious and beautifully decorated! It truly is the attention to detail which sets them apart. There are also two excellent restaurants on-site along with a chic bar that serves amazing craft cocktails. The Commonwealth left nothing to be desired! It's no mistake that they are the number one hotel.

Already reviewed this hotel but just stayed there again and they have maintained their excellence and outdid themselves -- we had complained the previous time about scratchy sheets, and they had a note in our profile and when we arrived they informed us that they had taken care to select in-house laundered sheets for us this time to make sure they were soft! We we were quite impressed. They were also very gracious about calling a restaurant when we were late for our reservation, giving us an upgrade based on frequent visits, and accommodating a late checkout. We won't stay anywhere else in Boston. (To recap my first review: the place is immaculate, the rooms spacious and comfortable, and the water pressure is the best we've ever had in a hotel.)

Can't say enough about the service...friendly, helpful staff made the stay not only enjoyable, but effortless....will certainly stay there again. Can't beat the location and there are 2 great restaurants to boot...The service is seriously on par with the Ritz Carlton...amazing.
