“Great location, comfortable.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Centrally located, comfortable bed, good pillows, soft sheets, great shower. Very accommodating staff, good vibe, and a nice value for a city stay. Basic coffee and bagels for breakfast, simply done, but good.

Room Tip: Great views of the Boston Public Library out of the front rooms probably worth the road noise.

Lovely central place to stay; convenient for the T and everything in the Back Bay. Simple continental breakfast; great martini bar. Only gripe - very little hanging closet space and no desk. But clean, modern, small rooms with a comfortable bed and good pillows.

We spent one night at the Charlesmark. The location is great, one block from a subway station, but ideal for walking in this most historic of American cities. The staff was very professional and helpful. This is not a $400 a night hotel with all the amenities and multiple doormen and concierges, but the staff is very knowledgable about restaurants, airport directions, etc. They are friendly, informal, and treat you as a valued customer. There is a printer available, not simply computers. Wi-fi works well. Many restaurants in all price ranges in the immediate Back Bay neighborhood. Limited room service is provided by an adjacent Thai restaurant, though we did not try it. The rooms are small, mostly with no view, but the price is right folks! If you are driving, factor in approx. $30 additional for parking about 4 blocks away; you can pull up and unload at the hotel. We found this not to be a problem, but if you have mobility issues it could be.

I stayed one night at the Charlesmark, which is located in the heart of the activity of Boston. Very close to the T, and surrounded by dining and shopping, and the ritzy Newberry Street. Close to Boston Common as well.

The room was very nicely appointed and comfortable, albeit somewhat small. I had a view of the alley behind the hotel, but I guess someone has to have that view. The hallways to my room were very narrow, making it difficult for me to pull my two pieces of luggage easily.

I found the staff to be friendly and helpful.

We were extremely happy with the Charlesmark. I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the city that also got good reviews. This one met the expectations. As previous reviewers have mentioned it is a great location; across the street from the Boston Public library, one street over from Newbury St. famous for the shopping, T station very close by, walkable to the theater district and the Public Garden. As mentioned by previous reviewers rooms are small (we had the queen room) but excellent use of the space with minimalist styling. I requested a room away from the street noise as suggested by others and was happy with the choice. The Duck tours are located 2 blocks away near the Prudential building. If you are interested in doing a unique way to tour the city, check out the Urban AdvenTours Bike tours. You will need to be prepared to peddle some hills. P.S. All the desk attendants were very helpful!

Room Tip: There is a huge grocery store called Shaw's within a couple of blocks. If you don't want to...

Had a lovely stay in Boston in this lovely hotel which is located a few minutes walk from the prudential centre, and Boston common. The hotel rooms are small but very clean and modern. Rooms were checked ever day so clean towels as needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. A thanks to kerri in the bar who made our stay there very enjoyable. This hotel is located in a safe location with access to the "T".
Definety will return.

I went to Boston for tourism purposes, and I was very pleased by choosing this hotel.

It is located in the Back Bay area, a nice charming neighborhood, and also close to the Boston Common and Public Park, where the freedom trail starts. It is also near to the Boston Pops (Boston Symphony Orchestra). From the hotel you can walk, or take the T, to downtown and Faneuil and Quincy Market. There is also plenty of stores nearby at Newbury St.

The room is tiny, but nice. The one I stayed has a nice queen bed, a good shower, a TV with many channel options, and a stereo.

The breakfast is a continental self-service with coffee, milk, juices, bagels and a fruit. The unique negative point is there wasn't any closet in the room, only a place to hang the coats.

The staff was always very corteous. As we got there late at night, due to a flight delay, whe were very pleased with a complimentary wine offer.

I certainly would stay there again.
