“BEST PLACE TO GET ENGAGED!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2012

This is the hotel to have the most romantic, fairy tale evening ever!! My (now) Fiance wanted to surprise me at the Ritz, but I later found out the staff accomodated his "secret scheme" by upgrading our room to the most breathtaking view of Boston. The concierge, managers and room cleaning were very courteous and all so positive and happy for me the morning after. Absolute best of boston, hands down (even if there is a ring on it!!!)

Room Tip: The courteous staff will accomodate your every need!

I've stayed here twice now during the past 2 months. As Platinum Premier was upgraded to the same end room with a great large window overlooking Boston Common. The front desk was always very helpful and I also like it when they say welcome back - in other words they had clear record of my recent other stay.

Am surprised that ratings just average a 4 for the hotel. I found it to be the nicest city Ritz I have stayed at and one of the top overall non-resort hotels I have stayed at recently.
My room was large, well-appointed and housekeeping services were very good. Bed was excellent and got very good night sleeps.

Some reviews have complained about lack of traditional fancy Ritz dining options. I disagree and instead view this as a plus. There is very warm feeling bar and restaurant as part of the hotel. Bartenders are great, it's a social scene, and food is much better than most hotel places - encourage getting the daily special which on Monday's is a tasty Venison tenderloin dish.

So overall strongly recommend staying here if you get and found that at times you can get a fairly comparable rate to less attractive lodging options in the area.

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking Boston Commons but don't think there are many

They claim to have a pool but kids can't use it. Very unfriendly sport club in the hotel

I enjoy staying here the night before my flights home. Convenient as it is close to Boylston Street and Boston Common.

So easy to take a walk and tour the area. The more I stay there the more I enjoy it.

This was our second visit to the Ritz Carlton in Boston. My husband, son and I came to enjoy a long weekend in the city. Check in was smooth and quick. Within minutes we were relaxing in our room (we were upgrated to a suite!)
Received A plus service at every turn:
- Needed the sofa bed made up for my son ... two gentlemen were there in a flash to get it done and asked if there was anytrhing more they could help us with
- Ordered room service for breakfast ... eggs, fruit, waffle were all delicious
- Bell staff happy to get us a taxi and give directions
- Late night room service hit the spot with soup, pizza and fries

Our suite was beautiful and luxurious - the bathroom was so nice that I didn't want to go home! Kudos to the housekeeping staff as every inch of the suite was immaculately clean.
We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back.

Is this the best choice for everyone?
Our room did not have much of a view, but we were out and about town most of the time in the day and did not miss having a view.
The hotel does not have a gift shop, but there is a CVS drug store right around the corner (the same building) if you need any incidentals.
These are the minuses we saw - not enough for us to look elsewhere.

Brought my son and 5 of his friend here for 8th birthday party, not only did they make last min special touches, cookies milk and child sized robes for each of the boys, but they also upgraded our room to a suite overlooking Boston Common, sent complimentary room service, balloons and popcorn/movie. Ashley D. Front dest agent and Michael B. Front house manager are phenomenal!! They really made it their priority to make our stay special. I cannot express how happy my son was to stay there. He never wanted to leave.

My son loved the bath butler service, and they even sent him home with a Blue comfy Ritz carlton Robe and VIK pin! We will def. make this our hotel choice for all of our stays when in boston.

Room Tip: Pay extra and face the common, upgrading to a suite is well worth it

20$ for a glass Pouilly-Fuisse, a charge of 9.95 a day for Internet and a room on one side overlooking a gravel roof and Two double beds...not what you would expect from the Ritz..
