I just returned home from a three-night stay at this hotel. This was my second stay at this hotel so obviously I liked it the first time. I find the hotel very comfrotable and the staff friendly. I love the location as I find the Beacon Hill area to be the most beautiful part of Boston. The location is also very accessible to the Bostom Common, Boston Public Garden, Fanneul Hall and the Freedom Trail. I thought that room rates, although not inexpensive, were fair for the Boston area. I will definitely plan to stay there again during my next visit to this most amazing city.

Admittingly, we paid top dollar for our stay due to the marathon of Boston weekend. This may cloud our view. BUT, this 4-star rated hotel is worn down. Bedroom looks fine and was spacious enough (although there were items from previous occupants under the bed, so cleaning is done only visibly), bathroom is very spacious but terribly outdated. Bath is very low-rimmed and small, so no comfortable bathing there. Showerhead will only go up for people of medium height, so when a bit taller, you will not fit under there. What was most annoying, were the elevators. They make a terrible noise and even though our room was about 5 rooms away from the elevator hall, we could hear the lifts working whenever in use. It is clear a new elevator system needs to be installed, but is not being done. I would hate to think what it would have been like if our room were even closer to the lift hall. Continental breakfast is VERY basic, so make sure to book Full American (which is good and plentiful), or eat out. Staff is friendly and helpful, so that compensated our experience. It is situated well, a good starting point for wherever you wish to go, only 15 min. from the airport and on the edge of Historic Boston (Beacon Hill). It is close to the hospital and fire station, so when ambulances or fire trucks work their sirens, you will hear it. Overall experience was not too bad (we were comfortable enough), but definitely not at the standard it claims to be or worth the price we paid for it.

Room Tip: As high up and far away from the elevators as possible
