“Hospital visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

Great location. While offering hospital rates, it was disconcerting to find an acupuncture needle on the floor at bedtime while we were walking in bare feet.

This hotel was formerly a Holiday Inn. It has two attractions: It is walking distance to Massachusetts General Hospital, and the back door opens onto Charles River Plaza, which includes a Whole Foods Market and a CVS pharmacy. Wyndham has increased the prices without improving the rooms or the service. The morning staff members are quite friendly. However, there are fewer front desk staff members at 4 PM, and they make no distinction between regular rooms and handicapped rooms; they just randomly assign rooms. Holiday Inn always presented a printout with the price of the room as well as the policies (such as no smoking). Since it became Wyndham, they do not tell or show the customer what the room rate is, they just add $30 to the rate that was quoted when the reservation was made. Also, the 3.5 inch cockroach running down the wall next to the television did nothing to enhance the stay.

Wyndham Hotel, is that kind of post 70's hotel that tries to survives.

Not so bad to criticize a lot, but not so good to be excited. I appreciate the beds which were pretty good. but the bathroom was oldish. I dislike the fact that there is no windows that can be opened.
The gym is totally out of ages (Only Running machines).
As the hotel, the breakfast is medium

The proximity to Massachusetts General Hospital was very good for us. The restaurant had excellent food and very good prices, but it was very cold in there. It was switchover time from AC to heat - perhaps that is why.
