The Ramada Inn Boston is not the place to stay if you intend to do any touring of the city's sights. In order to get to the city, guests have to wait for the hotel's shuttle service to take them to the nearest railway station (UMass- JFK) which is a ten to fifteen minute drive or a brisk thirty minute walk.

The Ramada looks more like a large motel and whilst the room was clean and the service was friendly enough, the location spoiled any sense that you were in Boston.

My tip is that if you are going to Boston to see the sights stay somewhere in town such as the Back Bay area or at least within a five to ten minutes walk from Boston Common.

Pros - walking distance to bowling alley and a Freeport Tavern , free shuttle to subway, free continental breakfast.

Cons - 30 minutes to check in, small outdated room, outdated bathroom with water damaged ceiling and toilet that barely flushes. Actually became clogged once and had to call for a plunging. No heat in the hallways, yes I mean inside of the hotel. Elevator feels like it will become stuck at any moment and its frightening at least. Highway is loud at night as the single pane windows sounds as if they are open when closed. Television has no guide.

I can probably get past the outdated decor, questionably clean bathroom, unstable wifi, unresponsiveness of the front desk (phone), and difficult journey to the one and only tiny little elevator (through 2 manual doors - not easy with luggage & 3 kids)....but what I can't get past are the exceedingly uncomfortable beds (I think it left me with coil marks), and, are you ready for this one......the TRAIN that runs alongside the property. Heard and felt the choo choo into the wee hours, then again before dawn. Never again.
