On A street, in Fort Point Channel, less than a few blocks from several new, high profile, truely excellent restaurants is Barlow's. In a lofty, open space the restaurant on one half is dominated by a large Bar and associated high tops, a few tables and booths sit beyond. On the other side is a more traditional dining area. The place gets very loud, something exacerbated by the presence of various, marginally talented, musical acts (please, please don't play Beck songs on an over-amplified acoustic guitar). The service is inconsistent to good. The food is good, nothing inovative or extraordinary but a cut above expected pub food. The value is ok. Nice outdoor patio in the summer.
