“one of the best meals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

Menton is definitely top 5 restaurant in boston, probably the best experience. Wouldn't expect any less from the same chef owner of no. 9 Park restaurant.

“Great palace to go for wonderful food and service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Great food and service. Really enjoyed it. They offer a Prix fixe menu or tasting menu. We asked for a la carte since we were not very hungry. They were fine with it. We probably ended up eating more. Ambiance is not over the top but very tastefully done. Every course was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

“Caramelized onion macaroons!”

The tasting menu was fantastic, innovative and delicious. The wine pairing was extensive and equally fantastic. Try the gin-lavender-lemon juice drink before your dinner!

“Sacré bleu!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

Location, Southie in the Boston art district. Surroundings, unassuming. Valet $ 18.00, venue, modern decor, per female companion "manly". Ambience, relaxed, many couples. Service, attention to detail, friendly, no stiff upper lip. Menu, 2 choices: 1. Prix fixe, 4 course dinner $95.00 PP (extras not included). 2. Chef's tasting menu $ 145.00 including escargot, fois gras, duck, lobster, rabbit, and other afrench cliches. Wine selection, impressive! My companion and I went for the 4 course menu. Food, Hmmm, let me think, beet salad succulent. Crab cake, awesome. Lamb, apotheosis. Here's the only problem I find! $ 380.00 later I do not feel that the cost benefit ratio was there. If I were at La Serre in Paris or Paul Bocousse I would not mind, but Southie? Donc, je suis désolée mes amis, but you will have to live with 4 stars.

“Among the finest in New England”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

I don't know why it took us so long to make it to Menton, but the delay was a mistake. This is an outstanding restaurant, equal to any we've been to in Boston and around New England. The dining room is elegant and not overstated, with the feel of the city around it. The restaurant filled up as we ate but the service continued to be excellent - prompt, knowledgeable, sensitive. All of our choices on the prix fixe menu were very good - intriguing sets of ingredients beautifully prepared and presented. The meat and fish elements to the main courses were perfectly cooked. While none of the courses was large (thankfully), there is plenty to eat for those who equate value with quantity. Not cheap but then the experience is not readily matched!
