We booked a whale watching cruise during our three day stay in Boston. Luckily it was a lovely sunny day and the sea was calm as we went out on a hour and a half long cruise out to find whales. Obviously no one can guarantee sightings but the area is extremely well frequented by these magnificent beasts so there's a very good chance you will see some. We were lucky enough to find a large female whale happy to feed and dive very close to us. Paintball disappeared for a few minutes then came up very close to the boat and then headed straight for us, diving directly below the twin bows of our catamaran, so close we could see the fins and blow hole perfectly. The boat stayed with our whale long enough for us to get some great photos so we really felt the trip delivered the goods. Our guides Heidi and Matt were great, really chatty and informative and happy to answer questions ( and have a friendly debate about the War of Independence!). Food and drink were available and reasonably priced and there was plenty of good seating available all over the boat, both indoors and outside. All in all a great experience
