“Spectacular Getaway”

The Green Turtle is not to be missed except by us of course! We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay in October and the new location is fabulous. The sunset is a must see. Jon and Karen are the most gracious hosts and the breakfasts were delicious. Jon filled in for Karen while she served Jury Duty and did a great job. Our suite was beautiful, spotless and provided everything that we needed. Cannot wait to visit again. Thank you Karen and Jon.

This is our second time staying on board the Green Turtle II and the first time in the new marina location. It is our tradition to celebrate our anniversary each year aboard the Green Turtle. Once again, it was a fantastic and enjoyable experience. We actually like the new location a bit better: there is easy and ample parking and the drive to this location is very easy. The view of the city is amazing and the sunset is gorgeous! There are great restaurants close by. We ate at the Belle Isle Seafood for lunch, and I had the best crab cakes I've had in a long time. We had a fantastic dinner at Cafe Rossetti's which is a wonderful, small italian BYOB restaurant. The breakfast cooked by Karen was delicious, as always. There are beaches near by and the drive to Deer Island is simple. Boston is a 15 minute ride away -- we actually had to drop some of my husband's art work off in Boston as we headed home and that was such an easy drive from the Green Turtle. Overall, we were not at all disappointed and we love coming here. Jon and Karen are the most accommodating inn keepers you could hope for and they truly go out of their way to make sure that you enjoy your stay. We are coming back for 4th of July to stay again and we cannot wait!!! We should have a great view of the Boston fireworks! Thanks again for a truly wonderful time.

A spectacular place to stay close to Boston center (15-20 min with a cab), a nice marina with an amazing view towards Logan airport and the the city of Boston. The ship (GreenTurttle II) is quite big and offers enough space to at least 4 persons, with quite high commodity. Karen and Jon are amazing hosts, they made our stay very pleasant. Always there when we had some questions or we needed to have things (like taxi transfer) organized. The airport is close, but there is little noise during the night though. Plus it is unique opportunity for anyone that wants to enjoy a view on a busy international airport activity, while drinking wine and chilling on the upper deck or bridge. I would definitely come back to the GreenTurttle.
Thank you Karen and Jon!

Jon and Karen did a great job of hosting us on Turtle III. it was great to feel the ocean and sit and watch Boston's city lights at night as well as watching the planes take off and land at Logan. Food was great and having a boat to call your own was nice. Getting to Boston was easy by cab and Jon made all of the arrangements. We spent 3 nights and found the boat to be very comfortable. I loved every thing about it!! Abbey

Room Tip: Remember you are staying on a boat with Turtle III.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the houseboat. Jon and Karen were great hosts, providing sightseeing and restaurant suggestions, even going to the point of making the reservation for dinner and calling a cab for us. The breakfasts prepared by Karen were delicious. Jon will deliver the breakfast at the time you have selected. The kitchen is stocked for coffee preparation, and snacks are provided. Our stateroom was very clean and comfy. If you are looking for a fun and different experience from a corporate hotel room, this is the way to go!

My boyfriend and I had stayed at the Green Turtle this past summer for his bday when it was docked in Charlestown, and we had a wonderfully special time seeing Boston from a whole new perspective (we live in Boston). I wanted to book a girl’s weekend ‘away’ with my best childhood friend who was visiting from NYC, and even though I knew Jon and Karen (the Green Turtle Proprietors) had to move to Winthrop due to circumstances beyond their control, I was open to seeing what that experience would be like. I am so glad I did. We had an amazing time, and I think the view of Boston is even more spectacular now from the Atlantis Marina in Winthrop than it even was in Charlestown! You are only a couple of minutes outside the city proper, and Jon and Karen will take care of every travel and transportation arrangement and concern so it really isn’t any inconvenience to not be RIGHT inside Boston—and in fact, it feels more relaxing and more like a beach community where they are now. You can easily get to public transportation or it’s barely a 10 minute car or cab ride back into town. There are wonderful restaurants right in Winthrop (the freshest seafood is a short walk away, and do not pass up the chance to go to Cafe Rosetti’s for dinner right on Winthrop Beach). It felt like I was vacationing miles away, but when we wanted to get to Fenway, we were there in 20 minutes. My friend was enthralled the entire time by the floating bed and breakfast/yacht experience and can’t wait to return with her family next summer. What with sunsets over Boston, and the moonrise over Winthrop Beach, not to mention the views of the city from Deer Island- we couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Thanks again, Jon and Karen, for another memorable and special time aboard the Green Turtle II!

We heard about this floating B&B in an email about unusual places to stay. It was fantastic. Karen and Jon were wonderful hosts, orienting us to life on the boat and how everything worked. They provided snacks, the wine we asked for, great breakfast delivered to the room, and great advice about places to eat and visit. The beds were comfy, the views (especially at sunset) were spectacular, and it was a wonderful stay. Can't wait to go back!
