This world-famous, three-story globe is one of the key attractions at The Mary Baker Eddy Library and has been visited by more than 10 million people since it was constructed in 1935. Brilliant colors and lights track global shifts over the past century as a rich orchestration of words, inspiring quotes, music, and LED lights illustrate how ideas have traversed time and geography and changed the world. « less

“Real cool sound effect lol”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

The mapparium itself is totally awesome. Very colorful and eye-catching. At the time it was built, it was very difficult to put all different colors on a piece of glass...so...truly appreciate the intelligence of human beings. The audio presentation is also touching, enabling the audience to feel the magnificence of history. The rest on the library is ok, giving detailed exhibition of Mary Baker Eddy's life. The Church nearby is beautiful architecture, but I didn't have time to go in. The tour is not long, and $4 with student id is a good deal.

One of the most astonishing things in Boston! A must see. And the library also worth a visit, in a beautiful area of the city

“You can walk INSIDE the globe!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

The Mapparium is inside the Mary Baker Eddy Christian Science library. There are group tours which leave every 20 minutes. The group walks onto a glass bridge in a round room which shows the countries of the globe as they were in the 1930s. There is audio which explains about the Mapparium and the countries with a few messages of peace and love. It was very pleasant and unlike anything I have ever done.

“A unique place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

There is nothing like this anywhere that I know of. Stand inside a beautiful enourmous globe with the entire worlds geography all around you. The Christian science center generally has other fascinating exhibits too. This is the world headquarters of Christian Science, but they go out of their way to NOT push anything about their faith at you. The reflecting pool outside is amazing too. A gem of Boston
