“Go to the top!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

The monument at Bunker Hill is extraordinary! The grounds are well maintained and the guides were helpful. You can go to the top, which we did, but it is 294 steps! The views from the top are very good! This was our last stop on the Freedom trail, so we were exhausted when climbed down the stairs! Neat place, worth seeing.

“Historic tower with nice view on Boston”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Climb 294 steps and you're rewarded with nice views on Boston. NB the views are from within the tower, you're not standing outside on the top!

“There is no lift”

The view from the top is fantastic but you need to be fit... we puffed and panted all the way up the 221foot monument..all 294 steps!

“Necessary to have a wider perspective of Boston's History”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013 via mobile

It was worth climbing the 294 stairs. Awesome view and exercise. The surroundings are beautiful. I really enjoyed the enthusiasm of the guide who explained the visitors the importance and origins of the monument.
Of course, you must be in good shape to climb Bunkers Monument... It was a challenging experience ;-). While I was climbing, I thought about all the difficulty, tiredness, bravery, courage and strength people in this place should have had to face and overcome all those obstacles that impede their freedom.

“Great if you like history...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013 via mobile

That bring said, it is NOT little kid friendly. I stayed down on the ground with my two toddlers while my hubby walked up the 294 steps with our older kids (7 & 8). Great for history lovers. The space @ the top is cramped and the climb can be strenuous.
