Spacious rooms. Very elegant. Within walking distance of the waterfront and the North End. The only negative is the valet service. They charge top dollar for subpar service. It took over an hour to get our car. Dropped this hotel from a 5 star to a 3 star review.

Lovely hotel, good service, so well located. The restaurant is good, a bit pricey but you are in a very trendy part of town with tons of restaurant. It use to be a Fairmount hotel but they kept the standard of the chain. Because it is located in a busy part of town, woman travelling alone would probably find it quite safe. From the airport, you can take the water cab directly to the hotel.

Husband and I stayed here overnight for our wedding anniversary. We booked the room off of Expedia and were assigned a wheelchair accessible room with a water view, perhaps because we told Expedia that "water view" was more important than location or other factors. We were disappointed that the rooms at this Fairmont location did not carry the same "Victorian" style furniture and decor as the many other Fairmonts do. Instead of feeling historic, the room almost felt more "trendy" with a padded leather headboard/sleigh bed versus a carved out wooden framed bed, etc. It was a lovely room nonetheless, the bonus of the wheelchair accessible suite was having a huge walk in shower! Cannot comment on the food or dining as we were within walking distance of many Boston restaurants and chose to wander, explore and eat offsite.

Customer service was top notch from door guys to front desk to housekeeping, all great. The location on the Harbor was nice, walking distance to great restaurants in Little Italy, Faneuil Hall & everything around there. Room was huge & bathroom was beautiful. Access to large closet from bathroom AND hall was convenient. Would definitely stay here again & recommend to friends or family.

Room Tip: We stayed in the main bldg, which was convenient to the bar & restaurant.

Very nice room, but nothing special. The bathroom, however, was definitely top notch. Large walk in shower, nifty makeup mirror, nice toiletries. Best of all was having the separate water closet. The shower spray was a little awkward, and did take some time to get the water temperature just right. Lots of water views, but the weather was cold and gray - made me want to turn up the heat. This was our first visit to Boston, so we picked this area due to it's proximity to the historic sites. From this location we were able to walk several portions of the Freedom Trail, and despite many detours, we always seemed to pick up the Freedom Trail at a different spot. This location was about a 15 minute walk to the TD Gardens where you can pick up the metro, ride the commuter rails to the suburbs or watch the Celtics play. Unless the weather is horrendous, walking to TD Gardens is probably easier than finding a cab or navigating in a car if you were leaving TD at the same time a game ended.

Room Tip: From 6-8 am, jets were continuously lifting off from Logan airport across the bay directly toward th...

Green Features: In a climate this cold, it probably pays to be as green as possible. However towels were replaced daily despite the fact that we had not left our towels on the floor.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Battery Wharf Hotel for a weekend and the accommodations were amazing. The room had a great view of the wharf, the beds were very comfortable, bathroom was roomy. It was a really nice, quiet place to stay in the North End.

We recently stayed here for one night as a last minute getaway to celebrate our anniversary. I had never been here before and in fact had never heard of the hotel, I chose it based on its proximity to the North End, where we had dinner plans already, and because the hotel was offering a very reasonable rate. To say we were pleasantly surprised by the Battery Wharf Hotel would really be an understatement. I typically stay in 4 star properties when I'm in the city and this hotel compares very favorably. The location, while a little off the beaten path, is fantastic, overlooking the harbor and the Coast Guard Station, and the property is lovely. The on site restaurant has outdoor seating with fire pits and heat lamps which makes for a very welcoming approach to the hotel entrance. The check-in clerk (Rachel) was very friendly and asked what brought us to the hotel that evening, when I told her we were celebrating an anniversary she immediately upgraded us to a nicer room with a water view. The room was very comfortable and while not huge was certainly spacious enough, with windows looking out onto the harbor. Bathroom was really nice, with a walk-in shower, long vanity area and plenty of towels provided. We chose the hotel for its location and it did not disappoint in this regard. We were able to walk to the North End for dinner in less than 10 minutes. When we returned to our room after dinner we found that Rachel had arranged for champagne and chocolates to be delivered as an anniversary gift, which is the kind of thoughtful touch and attention to customer service that in my opinion distinguishes a top tier hotel. There are a few areas for improvement, for example I would recommend offering free wireless - I refused to pay the $10 fee required and was a bit annoyed because the website advertises the rooms as having wireless but does not specify that there is a fee. I was looking for an informational binder/notebook like you usually find in hotel rooms, with information about check out times, hours for the restaurant, spa services, etc and there was nothing, also there were no pens or notepads, which we only noticed because my husband unexpectedly had to take a work call and was looking for something to take notes with. These are minor details in what was overall a wonderful stay, and I would definitely return, especially if I wanted to spend time in the North End/waterfront area. Other areas of the city - such as Faneuil Hall, North Station, Government Center, the Financial District - are all within a 10-15 minute walk as well. During the warmer months especially I would be eager to come back and enjoy the outdoor restaurant, and to also spend a bit more time walking around the waterfront property. Definitely a more unique experience than staying in a typical downtown chain hotel.
