“Nice and great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2011

Overall nice. Simple and nicely decorated. The couch in sitting room made a decent extra bed (which they made up for us ahead).. But it was located in the bay window area which was very chilly- was better when you pulled all three heavy drapes closed. We were on second floor overlooking St Botolph Street and it seemed pretty quiet all night. Only there one night, but the kitchenette would be great if we needed it. True that only 2 decaf, no regular, coffee packs were in our kitchenette, but the breakfast room did have espresso machine. Bath lighting was dim, but there was a lighted makeup mirror that you could plug in. Did not have any contact with the staff- the check-in was by email- all pretty convenient. Would stay again.

My stay was great and I will definitely be back! I was there for work, ended up needing to stay and extra night, needed to use the printer and scanner as well as get some direction as to local business services and the staff was excellent, accommodating and very nice. The Inn is super comfortable, like being at home and not stuck in boring hotel. This trip was for business but I would very much enjoy staying with guy as well - super location, spacious rooms, perfect for many different travel needs. Thanks everyone - you made my stay very easy and enjoyable!

Room Tip: I had the basement room and room 100 - both were super, I would take either again. Loved the basemen...

I'm surprise this property rates so high, the room we were in was poorly lighted, not cleaned well (the carpet was filthy) and any contact that you have with the staff is curt and not too helpful. The walls are paper thin, you will a party to EVERYTHING occurring in the next rooms. And the street is deceptively quiet during the day but at night, it's a busy cut through for traffic you will hear it all due to the windows that seem not to block any sound at all.
The exercise room is small. if you like on flavor of Danone yogurt and oatmeal and prefer only skim milk the "breakfast" is fine for you.

For the price one would expect more, much more with all of the competing hotels around.

Room Tip: Try to get as far away from the street as possible and pray that the rooms next to you are empty, if...

Dear Lib76,

I am sorry to hear that your stay at the Inn@St.Botolph was less than satisfactory. Most of our guests find our guestroom lighting to be appropriate, and our staff to be friendly and courteous. If a member of my staff was curt with you, that is unacceptable and I sincerly apologize.

For most of our guests, the tread mill, bike, eliptical machine and free weights are adequate for their workout needs. For a 16 room hotel, I feel that our gym is appropriately sized to meet our guest needs, and if a traveler needs something more extensive, there are several full sized gyms in close vacinity to the hotel.

Our breakfast includes Bagels, english muffins, three different kinds of Nutrigrain bars, three different kinds of oatmeal, Yoplait Yogurt, Nepresso Coffee, Twinings Teas, Apple+Orange+Cranberry+V8 juices. In the Nespresso Machine we have 1% milk.

Once again, I apologize that we did not meet your expectations, and I hope that you will consider us again the next time that you are in Boston.

Best Regards,

Tom DeSisto

The property provided great things and some alarming things.
The location was excellent. It was only a block and a half from the Prudential Center, (& great parking) a 'T' stop, restaurants, the Museum of Fine Arts, Newbury Street, Boyltson Street, and many other great Boston locations- too many to list.
The place was NOT clean. When you walked in off the street, the rugs were stained, filthy, not vacuumed, it was a terrible first impression of the property. Then there was the elevator... something is very wrong with that elevator!
The bed was comfortable, the street was quiet, the views were very nice, the kitchenette was well equipped.
The extra blanket located in the 'closet' was filthy. The decorative blanket at the foot of the bed was useless. The complimentary coffee left in the kitchenette were 2 packets of DeCaf! No creamers, but plenty of sugar packets. (there is a 7/11 store across the street that has coffee.) There is complimentary espresso & tea in the lounge on the ground floor....
The rugs in the room were also dirty and not well vacuumed. The bathroom wasn't that clean, someone's old dirty kleenex was on the floor between the sink & the wall. The bottom shelf of the sink vanity was dusty, the floor under the sink vanity hadn't been vacuumed or swept. The floor tile in the shower had a clumsy DIY style fix. The bathroom was cold, the lighting was terrible.
There was a nice little kitchenette, well supplied, but not really anywhere to sit and eat what you could cook. There was a desk with a couple of wooden chairs, but not really adequate for eating. The living area seating was horrible & uncomfortable. The one chair was lumpy and you could feel the springs. You couldn't put your feet up after a long day of walking all over the city sight-seeing; you had to sit straight up to watch TV. If you lay on the bed, the distance between the bed & the TV was so great that it made it difficult to see & hear. The walls were thin, you could hear conversations from other guests and the elevator going up & down, so you certainly didn't want to crank the volume on the TV. The claw feet on the chair were dusty, the edges of the rug had not been vacuumed. The gas fireplace wouldn't turn on, even though the pilot was lit, the valve was loose.
It just needs to be updated, cleaned & it needs a little paint. Someone has to spend a little more quality time with a vacuum, some cleaners, a duster & paint. The property isn't old enough to be so worn down.

Room Tip: We had a room on the 4th floor, next to the elevator facing St Botolph's Street. GREAT views, qu...

We stayed just two nights here and we wished it was a little longer. The hotel was really easy to find from the station, just short walk through a pedestrian only park. The aparments were very stylishly done, with pretty much everything you could want. We didn't see much of the staff but when we did they were helpful and polite. It was perhaps a little expensive, but it did have a lot of character and quickly felt like home.

We stayed here while I was at a conference in Boston in September. We have been to Boston before and stayed in privately rented apartments which were OK but this was a cut above the rest by far. We stayed in a one bed apartment on a high floor, the place was spotlessly clean, quiet and spacious. The separate bedroom helped a lot with the jet lag and there was a very well equipped kitchenette with a huge fridge, coffee maker, kettle etc. There was free wifi which helped me stay in touch with work while away. Everything was of a very high standard, very comfy bed, nice linens and a comfortable sitting room. The only slight gripe was the very small bathroom which left little space to put anything down but that was a minor inconvenience. And for anyone wondering as I was there is a hairdryer.
There is a continental breakfast available free every morning with bagels, muffins, orange juice, coffee tea and yoghurt which was very handy and saved us having to go out for breakfast every day. Also use of an Apple Mac in the breakfast room which let us print out boarding passes for the trip home.
The Inn is very well located right next to the Prudential Centre/Copley Square for eating shopping and a short walk from Newbury St and Boston Common. Boston is a great walking city and this place is in a really good location.
It is a sister property of XV Beacon and one thing I would recommend doing is eating at XV Beacon's restaurant Moo which is one of the best steak restaurants I have ever been to. When we ate there they even gave us a ride home (back to the Inn) in the hotel car which was really kind of them-not sure this is standard service.
If you are looking for somewhere of a 5 star standard with a 3 star price tag stay here-you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: The hotel is raised off ground level at the front but has a lift for wheelchair users and there is a...
