“Rushed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Very disappointed. Although the food was good we were rushed throughout the meal. Twice a waiter tried to take plates away while someone was still eating. I had barely finished swallowing when the waiter put a check in front of me. They never even asked if we wanted dessert, coffee or anything else. All of us at the table were made to feel that we were taking up a table they wanted for someone else. We made a special trip to Boston to take our son out for his birthday. He picked Nico based on Tripadvisor. I would recommend anyone looking for a special meal, go elsewhere.

“Enjoyable Dinner at Nico”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

Had one evening in Boston and we chose Nico based on reviews---glad we did. We had reserved a window table and had to wait just a little while for it but while doing so a very friendly bartender let us sample some wine before choosing a bottle for dinner and then we were seated soon after it was poured. A special salad of arrugala, artichokes, tomatoes and fresh mozzarella was fantastic. The cheese was so creamy---never had anything like it before. Veal saltimboca was also very good--portion huge--and a substitution of pasta over potato & veg was not a problem. They are very accomodating and seem to take pride in insuring everyone leaves happy. From our experience and what we saw around us, they are succeeding!

“Nico was a great experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

Last Saturday, we celebrated our anniversary at Nico in the north end. We had 6:00 reservations on a busy Saturday night. Typically, my wife enjoys Giacomo's - however, I was not willing to wait in line or feel rushed (as I typically do at Giacomo's). Since we were staying at the Fairmont Battery Wharf, Nico was just a short 5 minute walk. Nico is located on Hanover St - really at the quiet side past most of the restaurants and pastry shops.

From the minute we entered the restaurant we experienced a whirlwind of great service, atmosphere, food, and wine. We were seated immediately and enjoyed a great seat by the front window. Wine was ordered in the first 2 minutes, with water and wine appearing almost immediately. Our appetizer of fried calamari was great.

All 4 of our entrees were fresh, hot, delicious, and nicely portioned. After the meal, the great folks at Nico delivered some extra desserts to our table - since we were celebrating 2 anniversaries.

I will run back to Nico on my next trip to Boston and the north end!

Incredible food, cozy, incredible service, felt like we were in someone's dining room, sharing stories over great food! Sit downstairs if you can. Zuppa de pesci was amazing! Eat at this wonderful place!!

“Cozy and great service !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

The 1st thing we noticed was how nice everybody was. We were with our 2 year old daughter and they seated us downstairs and it was like dining with friends because it was small and cozy. Our waiter, Alex i think, was really nice and a true professional. We had the rigatoni and mushroom ravioli. Both were great. It was aperfect end to our Boston vacation on Columbus weekend.
