“A handsome, historic gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014 via mobile

Spent an exceptionally comfortable weekend, enjoying the fire in the lobby, cosseted by a responsive, smart staff that anticipated our needs and offered outstanding service. Room spacious and attractive. Terrific location near Newbury Street boutiques, recommended restaurants, and a pleasant walk to Boston Common. Delicious food in both the Irish pub, a lively spot, and the main dining room, City Hall. Owned by one family for 75 years who set a high standard for everything in this beautiful hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights over New Year's for First Night with our children (10 and 13). Location was great for taking part in First Night activities, we didn't have to walk far in the cold...Negative was we were in the middle of it all....BUT, our room faced the back of the Lenox...surprisingly quiet for NYE. Although the rooms can use an update, staff was wonderful, room was large (stayed in Queen/Queen Junior Suite) and comfortable. Will definitely come back.

We decided to plan a trip for a couple nights between Christmas and New Years. While The Lenox was not our first choice, we a so glad that we lucked out! This hotel was PERFECT! From the moment our taxi pulled up in front to our check out, everything was unbelievable. The staff were always warm and friendly. The fireplace in the lobby was warm and inviting after a day of sightseeing or shopping. The location was unbelievable. Walking distance to almost everything. Although we had to cut our trip short, we will definitely stay at the Lenox again. Its now our go-to hotel in Boston. We've staying in a lot of hotels all over the world, and this one exceeded our expectations. Worth every penny!

My husband and I stayed here for a few days just before New Years. I was paying a nostalgic visit to Boston 30 years after my college graduation. The location was absolutely perfect: steps from the T, nearby shopping and restaurants. Our room was a little small, but it was just fine for us and very clean. The service in the hotel was outstanding. Everyone was so friendly and helpful: the front desk staff; the doormen who provided us with umbrellas on a rainy night, and who sent us a complimentary bottle of wine! The lobby was comfortable and charming. This hotel and its staff helped to make my stay in my old college town memorable.

My husband and I have stayed here numerous times and we love this place. The location is great- Easy walk to the T, to shopping and to restaurants. The rooms vary greatly in regard to size and view. Classic rooms are a bit small but the Junior Suites are huge. All of the rooms I have been in are charming and the beds were always comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again!

We had to come to Boston to see a doctor at the Dana Farber Cancer Center. I thought we would only be there for one night. I picked The Lenox out of the blue for our place to stay — it wasn’t a chain and looked to be fairly close to the Dana Farber Center where we have to go for my appointment, as well as in the center of “things”. I was somehow afraid that a chain hotel (Like the Marriott or Hampton) would be off of a highway, like they are in the rest of America. I keep forgetting that Boston is a major city! The Lenox is a rather small, older hotel that has been refurbished. What is nowadays called a “boutique” hotel. Cozy. We’re happy here.

The staff at the Lenox were so very helpful in all ways. They told us the best places to eat, they told us how to use the subways and then later asked if we had made our destinations.

Then the Nor'easter hit and our plane flight home was cancelled. The Lenox welcomed us back with a special SNOW rate! We loved this hotel - the location, the people, the places around ...

Room Tip: We had 2 different rooms on the 2 nights we stayed at the Lenox. I liked the one with the view of t...

Green Features: Very cool recycling basket in the room, with a compartment for plastics, paper, etc. I had never seen anything like this before and now want one for my home!

I spent a night at The Lenox Hotel in September for a girls weekend get-a-way. We were impressed the moment we drove up to the hotel. We were met at the front door by the bellmen who so graciously parked our car. We entered the hotel and immediately felt relaxed. The lobby is quaint and just lovely. We drank some cider that the hotel offered and checked out our room. The room was perfect for the four of us girls. It was clean, comfortable and roomy. We enjoyed cocktails at one of the hotel restaurants and enjoyed sitting in the lobby by the fire place. The Lenox is walking distance to everything (if you do not mind walking). We are all in our 40s and we enjoyed walking to Quincy Market, restaurants, and shops. We didn't need our car or to call for a cab the entire time we were in Boston. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for an ideal location in Boston.
