I love Boston, the spirit of Bostonians and how wonderfully walkable the city is - even in the winter! This trip I chose The Lenox Hotel on Boylston and Exeter - based on the positive reviews on Trip Advisor, its proximity to the Hynes Convention Centerand (where I needed to be) and all the great restaurants and shops on Boylston and Newbury. And I'm so glad that I did, from the moment I arrived I've been greeted with friendly helpful staff at every turn. The hotel itself is beautiful (I much prefer a beautiful smaller hotel to a big Hyatt/Hilton/etc.) and very comfortable.
When I arrived after a long travel day, I was greeted by the friendliest bell hop ever. He quickly grabbed my heavy bag, welcomed me to Boston and The Lenox, and the moment we were in the door he asked if he could get me a glass of wine, a martini, or anything else. Having never been greeted this way before I laughed, but he was absolutely serious and went immediately to the closest of the three bars adjoined to the lobby (3!) and returned quickly with my drink while I was still checking in, and smiled broadly while he said, "That's on me!" (I'm thinking, I'm going to like this place!) Not long after I'd arrived in my room I received a call asking if everything was okay and if I needed anything to make my stay more comfortable. I could easily say no (thank you) as my room has everything I need including a comfortable bed, nice desk chair, mini fridge and free wifi. While my room doesn't have a coffee maker, there is complimentary coffee available in the lobby every morning. And its good coffee, nicely presented.
I'm on my fourth day and having a great experience at the super conveniently located Lenox Hotel, and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice small, friendly hotel in this part of Boston.
