“Pricey and Overrated Yet Quality Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2009

Good steaks and sides but very pricey and wait service was average at best. Overcooked a filet TWICE and offered very little in the way of an accomodation.

“Good Food, Higher Prices, and LOUD”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2009

We went there for dinner our last night in Boston. This restaurant is very loud so beware if you're going for conversation. It was very hard to hear the waitor let alone the person across from you. Everything is open so there's no sound deadoning. The food was good, not fantastic, but the wait staff was excellent. We had Hugo (sp ?) and he was the best! I had a glass of Riesling and it was the best so far that I've had. I asked him if he could please write down the name. He came back with a card of the name and the label from the bottle!

“An expensive disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2009

Mooo used to the The Federalist, one of the best and most elegant restaurants in Boston. At some point, the owners decided to remake The Federalist into Mooo, an odd combination of white tablecloth and silver meets the wild west. It's just a disaster. You're not sure whether you should be thinking BBQ and ribeyes or foie gras and filet mignon. You're seated at white linen-covered tables, but your soup comes in cast iron kettles. Huh?! Anyway, I've tried it out a couple of times for lunch and dinner. The host or hostess never has somehow not recorded or misplaced the reservation ("Sorry sir, we don't have a reservation for you") every time I've been there, and they're not very apologetic. The service is pleasant enough, though. Mooo has lost all the interior elegance that The Federalist showed. The menu is a mix of things, from steaks and fries to classic French. The food is decent.

It used to be a great place to take a special date, an important business associate, or to celebrate with a wonderful meal. Not any more.

I wouldn't go back again, sorry. Expensive and disappointing.

“Delicious Fun.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2009

A wonderful place for steaks, seafood, and wine. The restaurant is decorated in cow motif and it really adds to the fun factor. I had the halibut and it was melt in your mouth amazing.
