“Comfy, Clean & Elegant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

I stayed here in early December (little late on the review) and unfortunately we spent very little time in the room because was had a xmas party that started in the afternoon and didn't get back until midnight. What caught my eye immediately were the high ceilings, then the beautiful crown molding, the lovely linens and the casual but elegant decor. And if that wasn't enough, the bathroom was so clean and fresh. (Tile was a little modern compared with the rest of the decor, if I remember correctly) This room was superb! Also included in our stay was a hospitality breakfast with fresh juices, fruit, muffins, etc., which was not your ordinary continental breakfast. Would definitely stay here again. Oh, and did I mention the Location! Fab!

We stayed for 2 nights at the Fairmont Copley Plaza - and the first things that strikes you about this hotel is the old-world charm about this hotel!! The hotel lobby is gorgeous, and so are the rooms! The room was large, elegantly furnished and having a huge luxorious bathroom! The beds were very comfortable - slept like a log for the 2 nights! Our room overlooked the central square, the Trinity church and the Boston public library. It was great to sit beside the large french windows and see life at Boston go by...Its perfectly located - a 10 minute walk to the Commonwealth avenue, the river-side, the central park of Boston. A block away from the train station and lots of eating joints around. This hotel is Boston charm at its best and its not called the Grand Old Dame for nothing! Would love to stay here again if I were to visit Boston again...:)

Room Tip: Take the rooms overlooking the Central square and Trinity church...

This is one of my favorite hotels. It's absolutely exquisite. The rooms are wonderful and the service is top notch. From the moment you are greeted at the door to the time you leave, you feel like royalty. The location is perfect for sight seeing and centrally located for business. The building has such wonderful history (100 years old) without the musty smell and feel. I highly recommend staying here for both business and pleasure.

We also stayed here for the Worlds Irish Dance Championship held at the Heinz Centre. We had a 6am flight and arrived early at this hotel. I had used their online check in and the hotel had accommodated getting our family into our room at 9:30am. We shopped at Shaw's for groceries and Claraden wines for our adult drinks. We are Signed up for the fairmont rewards club so or wifi in the hotel was free as well we got a complimentary fridge to use .

We also got the lovely opportunity to walk Katie to the park. Her owner is very nice concierge as well. Children miss Katie already and have shared the book and stuff doggy to their class.
The main lobby is gorgeous as is the stairwells. The hotel is 100 years old so had a lot of character. We took the subway to the hotel and it was very easy trip getting off a block from, the hotel. Kids 12 and under ride free on the train. My spouse and I purchased a week pass so we could hop on and off and the trains were walkable from this hotel.
We enjoyed a great lunch at the chicken and rice guys and the meatball sub from The car . These are food trucks we had heard about behind the hotel. We also used the pool at the weston that our concierge arranged for us for the kids.

I do agree that the rooms were so hot and stuffy we too had to open the windows to get a breeze as getting bleeding noses. The maid had cranked the heat back up to 72 when we got back, the other negative was the pain on having to use your room key to get on the elevator.
No other complaints all were positive and we would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Next time will be a trip in the summer when the weather is nicer. We really enjoyed Boston and The Fairmont Copley Plaza

Excellent hotel, the renovations and historic details are exquisite....the service is outstanding, the rooms are nicely restored with a soft colored palette and luxury bedding. The Oak Bar is the highlight of the hotel, the food, the service, the wine list, the decor, & the atmosphere are superb! A place you want to stay at and relax for hours, great place to mingle with the locals and enjoy the history and modern comforts wrapped into one place perfectly. Best location in all of Boston, located a midst great restaurants, shopping and easy walking distance to everything else you want to see in Boston.

I stayed at this hotel because i had stayed their before. I remembered the amazing lobby. The room was average. I couldnt believe that they didn't replenish the soaps or shampoo until I called . Also construction would start at 7 am with an amazing amount of noise. The elevators need an upgrade. Nice staff, great dog in the lobby but overall just average

Hello and thank you for sharing your feedback with us here on TripAdvisor. I’m disappointed to hear that you felt your overall stay was only “average” as it is our top priority to exceed our guests’ expectations at every turn. In regards to the construction you mention, I’m very sorry that your stay was interrupted by noise while necessary work was completed in our Lobby restrooms. Thank you, again, for your post.

Location is perfect for Back Bay Train Station and nearby T and shopping and close to the parks. Lovely old world grandeur. Excellent staff. Great dog. You might not get a great view, but tradeoffs are worth it.
