“Excellent hotel...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

I've been to the Eliot a number of times on business and it's been a delight. This time was for a personal trip. The suites are very spacious and well-appointed and its location just a short walk from Kenmore Square and Fenway made it ideal. The staff was very friendly, helpful and courteous in our dealings with us. They dealt with us very quickly when we asked for new more firm pillows and managed to be friendly even at 5am!

Not much in the order of amenities in the hotel, but its location and charm and comfort definitely outweigh that!

Stayed here because it's a short walk to Fenway Park. It's a beautiful hotel. Had a two room suite that was tastefully decorated, very clean, quiet. Staff was very attentive although one front desk person was very matter of fact instead of being warm and welcoming. Everyone else at the desk was great. Location allows for alot of choices in things to do as Newbury St. Is nearby and the hotel itself is on Commonwealth. Beds were comfy but as is fairly typical, the sofa bed was not great. Booked this room thru booking.com and got a good rate compared to what is supposed to be the regular rate. Overall a good experience and would stay there again.

I stay at the Elliot whenever I'm in Boston. It is an elegant old hotel and so well located on Commonwealth Avenue. The staff is lovely and rooms beautiful. Beds are very comfortable and rooms elegantly furnished. The two restaurants in the hotel lobby are both excellent. The hotel also provides wonderful running routes along the Charles river or through the Public Garden. Highly recommended!

The Eliot Hotel is well located in downtown Boston next to Newbury street. It was an ideal location, just steps away from The Harvard Club where I had a medical conference. The staff were very polite and friendly, and accomodating. The suite was beautiful with comfortable queen beds, chairs and a comfortable couch. My only complaint, if I am to call it that, was that the room was booked for 3 people, but only appointed with 2 glasses, cups, etc. Given the hefty extra $30 charge for a third person, it would have been nice if these accomodations were given without special request.

Stayed at a suite for 4 nights. Good location. Uni Sashimi Bar was an outstanding find. Other than that, the front line staff was like part-time college students - not well versed at handling our requests, providing a level of service that was courteous, inefficient and cold. Our sofa was hard and uncomfortable to sit on, and even worse to sleep on. You will get better value elsewhere.

Staying in Boston and going to a show was a Christmas gift for Mom, and the Eliot Hotel made it so enjoyable - for both of us! The room was gorgeous and well appointed. Lots of space for us to spread out and feel at home. The beds were luxurious. We both slept wonderfully! The staff were excellent and SO accommodating. We also enjoyed a drink at Clio's bar and a scrumptious dinner there (onsite at the hotel.)

All in all - a superb experience. Can't wait to go back...

Room Tip: I don't think the Eliot has any "bad choice" rooms.

Hotels are tough to find this weekend and definitely not cheap. This nice little boutique hotel was in a great location relative to the finish line, race expo, morning bus pick up, and course for spectating. There were also numerous places to shop and eat within in walking distance. The room was comfortable and very accommodating. The staff was very helpful and personable. Given the location and quality of the accommodations the Eliot was definitely worth the price. We'll definitely consider it again for future visits!
