“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

I've stayed at this hotel a few times over the years and I like the convenient location to Cambridge. It's right on the Charles River, with a Whole Foods market 2 blocks away and the entrance to I-90 right there. There's a great walking/biking path along the river as well.

It's undergoing a renovation, which isn't quite done yet or I would have given them the top rating. From what I can see already the renovation is really nice. Modern, but classy.

There's also a great jazz club, Sculler's, inside the hotel.

Room Tip: I like a view on the river side, where you can see Harvard, the rowers out on the river in the morni...

Spent 4th of July weekend here and really enjoyed it. Just park your car and use their shuttle or 10 min walk to the T which will get you anywhere. Will admit that we did spend a lot of money on taxis since we didnt always feel like dealing with the T after dinner and this hotel is not near any resturants. Their onsite resturant was quite good, better than expected but a bit on the higher side. Would stay there again due to the suite set up and nice long walk to Harvard but not really convient for most tourist spots unless you cab it or T.

Rooms are a bit dated but clean and views of the river were very nice; roof top bar on weekends has great views. Nice helpful, friendly staff made an enjoyable stay.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding our hotel.
One of our next renovation plans is to give our rooms a more updated look, so we do hope you will have an opportunity to visit.

Every aspect of this stay was positive. Clean, professional, friendly and the cookie was a nice touch. I do not know what was the exact temperature of the room but they set it at a sweet spot that I never quite manage at home. Perhaps I noticed because of how hot it was outside.

We stayed in May to tour the city. We had beautiful views of the Charles River. We especially enjoyed watching the teams crewing. Very convenient with free shuttle to all the sites. Even though their lobby was torn up for renovations, staff quickly checked us in and were very accommodating! Rooms were spacious and clean. I would suggest you get on a higher floor not only for the views, but also to get away from the lounge. Band plays very late and is very loud!!! Our restaurant meal was not very pleasant because the band was just too loud.

Thank you for the great feedback in your response. I'm sorry to hear that the Jazz Club was disruptive to your dinner - I have provided this feedback to both managers so that we can further enhance our guest experiences.

I stayed in this hotel for a weekend get away. We came for an event at Fenway. Overall the hotel was nice and accommodating. The beds were comfy and the suites were nice for the extra space. Unfortunately I wouldn't stay at this hotel again solely based on location. This hotel was just too far from everything. It was not near a T stop and the walk was pretty far from things. I had read those reviews before staying but it was a last minute trip and I was struggling finding a room in the city in the price range I was willing to pay. Ironically with the cost of cabs to get to and from everything I could have stayed in the heart of Back Bay for the same amount of money and wouldn't have had to deal with the inconvenience. Again not a bad hotel, just really needs to be near the things you want to see/do/business for it to be a good stop.

The hotel staff seemed to enjoy working at the hotel, but the overall feel of the hotel was dated, and the lobby area was under renovation, so it wasn't as inviting as I had imagined. Windows from inside the living area of the room, face in to the hotel hallway, which meant that the drapes need to always be closed, or guests walking by your room would be able to see directly inside.

Easy check-in! Very friendly. The room was clean and spacious.
All was very good until I forgot my phone charger. I called to say that I had forgotten it and they claimed that housekeeping did not find it. I complained and said I found that hard to believe because I had left it plug into the outlet and that the cord was on the floor. If they vacuumed the room they would have seen it. Back and forth I went with the final answer being "sorry but nothing was found"! So moral of my story is don't forget anything because it will be gone forever.
