“Hurricane haven”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

I was unfortunate to be in Boston during Hurricane Sandy but fortunate to be in The Copley Square Hotel as it happened!
This is a stylish, well priced hotel offering free wi-fi in all areas (unlike almost everywhere else I stayed), freshly renovated, immaculate rooms and public areas in a magnificent old building and genuinely friendly and helpful staff. There was some scaffoldiif on the exterior of the building but it made no difference at all to our visit. I read other reviewers had issues with small rooms - this was not my experience but we had paid for an upgrade in advance.
As we couldn't go outside for 2 days during the storm we used more of the hotel facilities than I perhaps would have done otherwise. They offer a happy hour every night that turned into quite a party under the circumstances and 15% off any meals consumed in the dining room. Breakfast was excellent - one of the best I had in Boston, offering typical American (eggs, pancakes, bacon and maple syrup) through to more familiar and lighter options.
We were locked in by the storm so we had to stay in for dinner and I'm glad we did. Although the restaurant is basically a burger joint the food was delicious - fresh salad ingredients, choice of meats (breed and provenance detailed on the menu and by the staff) made to order, excellent hand cut fries... Everything you could ask for in a great burger really! The staff were delightful and the room very private and spacious with lots of comfortable nooks and banquettes. After dinner we cleared the table, ordered another bottle of wine and played scrabble all night (they have lots of wooden board games available). All in all an excellent experience under what were pretty trying circumstances.
Highly recommended.

“Room size small for price.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012 via mobile

Rooms very small. Started with queen. Had to upgrade to king in order to have adequate space for two. Bathrooms size tiny. Bed, linens excellent. Towels also very good . Location good. Close to shopping and short walk to T.

“Awesome building, amazing location, cool staff.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Hotel in under construction, but who cares! The building is beautiful and in an amazing location to visit Boston! First room wasn't to my liking, two guys visiting the city and only one medium size bed in a small room. They comped us to a beautiful room with a King size bed, they clearly warned us it was above the bar and might be loud. We were in Boston to party so I knew we'd be getting home after the bar closed anyways! Overall great stay! The girl who checked us in Friday night was awesome and so was the guy who helped us out Sunday morning!

“Elegance in a great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

My boyfriend have stayed here twice for New Year's Eve festivities. This hotel is in a perfect spot if you're new to Boston and want to see the sights. It's centrally located and easy to get to. When we stay, we just walk to wherever we need to go.

If you're going to New Year's like us, the parade goes right past the hotel. The ice sculpture contest is just out the front door and across the street. It gets a little crowded and crazy, but it's a fun crowd and we didn't mind.

The hotel staff are unfailingly polite and helpful. The rooms are lovely and well furnished and supplied. I liked the historic fixtures in the bathroom.

It's not cheap, but it the level of elegance and location make it worth the money.

“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

Loved our stay at the Copley Square Hotel! Extremely friendly staff, room was good-sized, super clean and comfortable! Lobby ambiance is lovely - decor is tasteful with understated elegance.

Loved the complimentary coffee in the morning and the "Wine Down" every afternoon! Nice touches and greatly appreciated!

Would stay again! Location can't be beat - a 2 min walk to the T.
