“Good all around”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2011

The facility is well maintained, clean, with all the extras you expect from a quality hotel.

Wonderful location near the water and easy access to the Freedom Trail. The staff was universally helpful. We had need of a handicap room with a view for the family member who would be spending a day in the room. The room was perfect. It had a view of the city and a full access shower. The room was quality in all regards.

The only issue is that the handicap room is the farthest room from the elevator and it is a very long hallway. During the renovation I would recommend putting the handicap rooms near the elevators.

If we had know the parking was about $45 dollars a day we would have postponed renting the car until we left the city. We all thought that was a little expensive for guests of the hotel.

While the location is ideal for wanting to be able to walk around downtown Boston, go the aquarium, and be near the park, the hotel was undergoing construction which was very disruptive and loud and made entering & exiting the hotel a nightmare. The ONE public restroom near the restaurant always had a line of at least 12 woman waiting to utilize the facilities. The room itself was comfortable, and the view was okay from the window. I did not find the staff very patient or helpful, although they were polite.

We took the kids to Boston for a sightseeing weekend to kick off summer break. I debated whether to reserve two rooms or pile into one room. We have one pre-teen and two teenagers. I ended up reserving one room and requesting a roll away. We arrived very late on our arrival day (nearly midnight) and were relieved the roll away was already in our room. The hotel was under renovation, so felt compartmentalized and rather plain, but the cleaning staff added her own sense of sparkle to our stay which dramatically improved our opinion of the hotel. (Smiles, fresh towels, spotless room, etc...) The location was picturesque and easy. You can hop on the T literally right outside the door and there were dining options within steps of the hotel. One evening, our tired kids grabbed dinner across the street at Quincy Market and headed back to the hotel while my husband and I had a leisurely dinner at Legal Seafoods, also across the street. We did not spend a lot of time at the hotel, but found it convenient and comfortable for our stay. Positives: location, comfortable beds, excellent staff. Negatives: a little noisy.

The location of this hotel couldn't be better!
There's a beautiful park with free entertainment on summer days.
The hotel was in the process of some renovations.
The construction did not create any problems during our stay.
The room was very clean and well appointed. There was a small fridge and safe within the room. The view of the park, and the harbor was fantastic!

We stayed here and loved it. It is walking distance to Fanuiel Hall and the North End. The aquarium sits right on the side of the hotel. The beds were confortable and the rooms were large. Would most certainly return!

This is the second time I have used this hotel and it is by far one of the best destinations in the USA. I knew there was some renovations going on so a little noisy but I put the kids down stairs.
The staff is great and always helpful. I wish i could remember the managers name (big baseball fan) but extremly helpful. Near all the great spots, a quick T ride to Fenway, great food in the area and great energy every where you go.

Ill be back again and again! Thanks.

Room Tip: High as possible and the north east side for the best views and privacy.

Great hotel - easy access to public transportation, historic sites, and restaurants. Rooms were nice - housekeeping prompt.
Construction and renovation while we stayed - sometimes noisy, but nothing to deter me from staying here again.
