Description: It is the philosophy of BarLola, where one can simultaneously drink, enjoy Spanish music, mingle, and eat ones way round a wonderful gastronomic spectrum. It is our goal to make sure that we only serve authentic dishes that are as close to the original presentation and taste as those you would find in different regions of Spain. We have a fantastic selection of wines, cavas, beers, and other signature cocktails to accompany your meal. We make every effort to ensure that the majority of our key ingredients are imported from Spain. Our kitchen team members come from Spain, descendants of Spain or of Latin ancestry to ensure authenticity and standards. ***NOTE: Every Sunday evening we have live Flamenco shows Sunday Night at 8pm. Please note that there is a $20 minimum per person (toward food and drink) for the show. It will be assumed that all reservations made 7pm and 8pm are for the show. If you will not be joining us for the show, please let us know*

“Watch out for germs and bacteria”

This place is horrible. Dirty dishes, dirty tables. We end up sitting on the bar since we did not get any service on the table... Broken bar stools, rusty nails... You name it... I asked for a particular wine, the bar tender gave me a different/ cheaper one and try to cover it up... I wish we have just left.... My wife and I got very ill after one dinner in this place.

“Unique and Fun Night Out in Boston”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

Went to Bar Lola for the Sunday night Flamenco show, and also to celebrate our 22nd anniversary. It was a very unique experience out on the town in Boston, from the Flamenco dancers who were great, to a wonderful selection of tapas and friendly servers, to the nice Comm Ave address. Would happily recommend this to anyone looking for something out of the ordinary in Boston.

“Nice little spot for dinner and drinks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

The tapas were delicious. I love the idea of small dishes, where you get to try lots of different things, although the portions were slightly more than expected. We ordered 5 dishes for 2 people and couldn't finish it. The stuffed mussels were fantastic, as were their meatballs and chicken empanadas. The prawn fritters tasted a little stale (maybe overfried?), but had a good mango sauce.

The sangria was very good. It's worth it just to come for their sangria, which you can get in either a glass or by the pitcher.

It has a nice cozy atmosphere. We managed to get outdoor seating. It was a beautiful day, and it definitely added to the experience. The sun was in my eyes, but the hostess moved us to another table with no fuss. If you can, definitely try to sit outside.

The servers very attentive, checking up on us several times throughout the meal. One thing I noticed, however, was that all 5 of our dishes came out at the same time. I'm not sure if this is how tapas are served, but our small table ended up feeling pretty crowded. I would have preferred a little more spacing between the serving of the dishes.

“Tapas in a relaxed atmosphere!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

Last week we visited Bar Lola in the Back Bay for dinner. It was raining and we decided to trythis place which is is about three blocks from our place in Boston. We are glad that we did and we will be back.

The offerings are small plates and they have a nice range of dishes. We were satisfyed with four plates and the cost is about $10 apiece. The green beans, by the way, were fantastic and a compliment to the other dishes we sampled which included meatballs, lamb chops and a very nice shrimp crepes offering. We found the food to be of high quality.

If it is nice you can sit outside which might be preferable because it is a bit loud inside. We were in a room with two large table celebrations however so maybe it is not always the case. Lots of hard surfaces, however, so the noise will reverberate.

The drinks were quite good, both the Sangria and the Spansih oriented cocktails. The service was generally good, informed and attentive.

Total bill for two of us was about $60 plus tip. Not bad for a nice night out in the Back Bay. Again, we will be back.

“Great Sangria and good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012

Came for a drink in May, and then decided to try a meal for a date night. The food was excellent and the Sangria was not a fluke. Lots of selection and not one bad plate. A fun place to eat and the food did not disappoint. Service was good as well. We ate at 7, so it was very quiet. Go later for a more engaging experience. At a Tapas bar, the more the merrier. Next time we will go for a later dinner.
