If you are in the area, then sure stop by (ideally by walking as parking is expensive). On the other hand, if someone is a Naval buff then of course you are visiting. And the Constitution is fun to see.

“Very interesting”

From the USS Constituion to the destroyer Cassin Young, to the museum just yards away, the Navy Yard is a great place to spend half a day. Interesting to both kids and grown ups. Get there via Ferry from Long Wharf and you get great Boston views as well for a couple of bucks.

wonderful historic area with many displays and placards to impart the past. the museum where you enter to see the USS Constitution is amazing

Enjoy military history???? Make sure to stop her and view the USS Constitution; amazing how it is still a warship.

“Nice to walk around”

Though we didn't pay to go on any of the ships, the Navy Yard is a nice area to walk around and get a view of not only Boston skyline, but these gigantic (old and new) ships that are at the docks. I didn't notice benches to sit on, but there are grassy areas around where you could sit and sip on coffee or enjoy a packed lunch. Beautiful area.
