“intresting”

good permanent collection, nothing exceptional as guess exhibitions, at least to my expectation, but a good opportunity for visitors to see some of the local artist. Good group guide in several foreign languages.

“Have kids? Go during vacation week!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

We went during school vacation week and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Yes, the museum has many pieces that do not interest children, but it has so many more that do. Mine enjoyed seeking out works by the artists their art teacher has mentioned, and the mummies and weapons are always entertaining (albeit a bit morbid). The best part about going during school vacation week is that entrance to the museum is free for children, and there are so many activities geared toward them. There were scavenger hunts, art projects, and guides to help them find kid-friendly art/exhibits. On top of all that, the cafe was good, and we were able to eat in the gorgeous courtyard/garden.

“Splendid atmosphere.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Excellent space to dream, since not everyone can have a dining room with such high ceilings.

Great place to grab something to eat, right after the movies, or after visiting the museum, or when you are in the mood for a different atmosphere.

The food is good, the service not very attentive.

“Extensive collections, comparatively little crowding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

I love the MFA. The permanent collections are extensive. The building is beautiful. Sometimes I visit the MFA just for the light. There are several restaurants, a movie theater, a Japanese garden. On the weekends, especially during the spring and summer, and during school breaks, the museum can get crowded, but not uncomfortably so, and visitors seem to behave more respectfully here than they do, say, at the MOMA in Manhattan.

“Simply the Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

The entire Museum and the cafe are truly an experience not to be missed! Do not miss the Sargents and the contemporary wing-this is one of the best designed additions ever to a museum.
