Owner description: The signal from the steeple of Boston's oldest church triggered the War for Independence that led to the birth of America. On that fateful night in 1775, the two lanterns in the steeple told Paul Revere that the British were approaching by boat, not on foot.

“Historic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013 via mobile

So incredible to see this church, which is such an important part in American history. The "one if by land, two if by sea" signal was sent from the steeple when the British troops were moving into the Boston area.

“Delightful church”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

This was an interesting church to see especially given the history. It is so different from modern churches and so much history.

“Fun to stop in to”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

Fun to stop in to. Has great historic value in our country. They offer a brief (10-15 minute) presentation which can cause a bit of a line outside --- don't be discouraged, just take a moment to wait. After the presentation, the church empties out, and the line disappears as a new crowd of folks file in.

“History Class right in front of you.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

Can become a little crowded, but very peaceful, historic, and helps remind us of what the "Founders" of this great country had to endure... It's not possible to rewrite history when you see it in front of you.

“Great Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

We visited while in Boston. It was interesting to sit in the pew boxes and listen to the guide give a history of the church. It is well worth seeing.
